To be considered for election to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, a nominated player must have been retired at least five years. For a non-player, there is not a mandatory retirement period, but a coach must be retired before he may be considered. A contributor, who is a nominee who has made outstanding contributions to pro football in capacities other than playing and coaching, may still be active in his pro football career.

The Class of 2006 will be determined at the Selection Committee's annual meeting on Saturday, February 4, 2006, in Detroit, Michigan, the day before Super Bowl XL. The election results are announced immediately following the meeting at a press conference at the media headquarters. Hall of Fame bylaws stipulate that between three and six new members will be selected each year.

hope ray guy gets it. he deserves it more than any other player there who's on their 2nd+ year of nomination

That is actually a pretty strong class. Aikman, T. Thomas, Reed, Irvin, White, Guy, Dent, Stabler, Moon, D. Thomas and Keuchenberg? It is going to be tough for people to vote him in. You know Thurman, Aikman, Reed, and Reggie White are going in. Also, in my opinion, Warren Moon should make it as well.

I wouldn't hold my breath for the Keuch...

Aikman, Dent, Monk, Reed, Moon, Derrick Thomas, Wilson Jr.

we get two great Qbs, you have the theme of great wide recievers, the tragic story of Thomas and Reggie White, and the living legend owner wilson. That would make a great class.

If Art Modell gets in something is terribly wrong with the NFL. You dont just get a bust in the HOF if you owned at team. Especially if you moved it and pissed a bunch of people off like Modell did. Thats nuts to even nominate him.

there are plenty of people in the HoF who were just front office guys or whatever, including several owners. i don't see why they shouldn't get in

Aikman is the only sure thing on that list. The other guys all have reasons why they could be made to wait.

if anything, reggie white is the only sure thing. there are still questions about aikman

I hope with all my heart that Kooch gets in this year, as I have every year that he's been eligible. But given the other names on that list, I think it is unlikely.

I think Kooch's best chance is going to come as an old-timer, once his regular eligibility expires.

I would make the trip to Canton to see Bob go in.

Its the FOOTBALL hall of fame. not the football players and coaches hof. art modell was an important figure in the NFL, and to not nominate him because he was an owner would be ignorant.

I do understand your anger though, because of the whole moving the team thing.
