He isn't going to start. Wake Starks Soliai Odrick

I doubt Odrick starts at DE in a 4-3 front. He's athletic enough to do it in a pinch, but it's far from an ideal fit.

Is it certain where Odrick is playing yet? Thought he would be more of a DT in the 4-3. Vernon does sound like a great prospect, but surely we can't hit on a load of players in one draft, can we?! If we hit on our first 4 or 5 picks I would ecstatic!

Just my guess, he starts at end on 1st and 2nd down. On passing situations he goes inside with starks and Vernon comes in at end with soliai coming out.

I dont think it matters who starts guys....We have a number of DE's that can play just about any position on the line. At times Odrick will be a DE on the left, then the right, then NT. Starks is the same way too. Plus the amount of plays eachother will get, I would venture to say everyones gonna get their own share of plays. So its doesn't really matters who starts, cause all that really means is they get the first snap of the ball game. No big deal.

I watched Vernon though out his college career. He was hard to miss because as a D lineman he wore #35. Very disruptive and hard to block. Spends most of his time in the other teams back field. Not nearly as quick as Cam Wake but he made 10 + tackles for loss to go with his sacks the last year before his suspention.
Not sure he's the starter but as a situational guy he should be very good.

I can't see where anyone thought he was a 2nd round pick.

How quickly people forget how that 'fat' Vernon saved our bacon as LT for several years...The guy was coerced into coming back this past year, didn't stay in shape and had a poor year, but the other 7 yrs of his career don't count, I guess...

How quickly we forget when Carey was drafted, we had a choice of him or Vince Wilfork...plus I believe we traded up a couple of spots because we were afraid that Belecheat was going to take him...
At this point, it can be safely argued that we made the wrong choice.

He really only started one year. Last year he missed severval games because of the suspention. i don't think anyone had him rated 2nd round and 3rd or early 4th was the projection.
It's all on potential. With proper coaching and strength training he COULD be good. Not a sure thing. Long legacy of Canes D line may have something to do with it. i think he'll turn out a good pick.

Starks will excel in the 4-3, he was about avg early on at TENN. The guy is in his prime, and has shown the ability to adapt to where ever he plays. The starting front 4 is Odrick, Starks, Soliai and Wake.

Odrick is a pusher with good hands. Anyone else bothered why he was drafted into the scheme. Even though we moved back it was early.
I think he was a miss.
Langford made more sense. He was moved.

Can't wait to see our new D-line!!!! I have a feeling Odrick is in for a monster year and alot of people will know this kid by the end of the season.
