Another former Dolphin got under the skin of a current member of the team.
Quarterback Joey Harrington took offense to Kim Bokamper's line of questioning about the insurmountable challenge that looms ahead for the struggling Dolphins.
"Says who?" Harrington demanded Wednesday. "Insurmountable to who?"
Bokamper, a local sportscaster who played for the Dolphins from 1977-85, responded by saying, "Well, look at the numbers. You have to be legitimate and look what's going on. [The Bears] are an undefeated team and you're a one-win team."
Harrington responded by saying, "We talked about numbers a couple of weeks ago. If numbers mattered, then Al Gore would have been our president, right?"
"Numbers do matter in this league," said Bokamper.
Tensions eased when Harrington said, "I'm just giving you a hard time."

Speaking of the numbers:

The 1-6 Dolphins are the worst team in the league based on strength of schedule. Arizona (1-7) and Detroit (1-6) also have only one win. But Miami has lost to teams with worse records than the Cardinals or Lions have.

The Dolphins are the front-runner to select first in April's draft. The NFL uses strength of schedule, not head-to-head matchups, as its tiebreaker to determine draft order.

The Dolphins are 0-7 against the spread.

The Bears have outscored their first four opponents at Soldier Field, 152-30. They are the first team in NFL history to win four straight at home by 25-plus points in the same season.

The Bears have yielded the fewest points (69) in the NFL, the fewest by the team through the first seven games since 1937.

The Bears have scored the most points (221) in the NFL.

The Bears' defense has allowed only four TDs in 13 trips inside the 20.

The Bears are giving up the fewest yards per game in the league.

The Bears have won 10 straight home games.

The Bears are tied for the league lead in turnover differential (plus-11).

Bears kicker Robbie Gould has been perfect, 20-for-20 FGs and 23-for-23 PATs, and leads league with 83 points.

Rex Grossman has 11 TDs, no INTs and a 124.0 passer rating in four home games.
Had enough?

''We're going to do some things we haven't done in the past,'' receiver Chris Chambers predicted. ``We're going to stay away from stuff we're not good at and do the stuff we're better at. We're going to make things simpler.
``We're going to do stuff simpler, but a lot better. That way, we can play a lot faster, because there will be less thinking for everybody.''

O.K. Any guess's what the Dolphins are good at?

moving the ball and playing good defense. The problem is they always shoot themselves in the foot on offense, and give up the big play on defense. Harrington is 100% right.

we will shut everyone down that has doubted us and beat the bears!!!

That's a whole lot of optimism there. Let's hope our boys can match it.

This was a locker room Interview and you can watch the Live Video on Sun Sentinel's Dolphin website.

http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/football/pro/dolphins/

Listening to Joeys whole take there is a good sense of confidence - he and the other players are sayin' the same thing - (1) Nobody is beating the Dolphins as much as they are beating themselves - When (not IF) they start executing they are capable of beating anyone. (2) He's not scared of the big bad Bears and he's won at Soldier Field before, (3) He's taking a personal challenge by the Media talking more about next weeks Bears Giants game.

The video of it is on miamidolphins.com in the player interviews. I thought Harrington handled it well. He wasn't upset he was having fun with Bokamper. I was actually impressed with what he said.

Harrington should've said three words: "Any Given Sunday". Nuff said.

I've seen worse situations result in wins. There is no doubt the Bears should be heavily favored to win. But, they should have been against Arizona and the Cardinals basically gave that game away.
