My bold prediction is this: in three years' time none of the current starting linebackers and none of the current starters in the secondary will be the same. There are a few players who could prove me wrong, most notably Channing Crowder and Yeremiah Bell. But, if I'm right the front office is going to go heavy on linebackers and defensive backs in the next several drafts.
Look at it more closely:
Porter - a great player, but will turn 34 when his contract expires.
Crowder - nice intangibles, just signed a big contract, but is really only an average player.
Roth - Dolphins may have already found his replacement in Cameron Wake.
W. Allen -- contract is up this year. A very solid corner, but not a ballhawk. I think the front office will let him go.
Y. Bell - the question is whether or not he can stay healthy for the duration of his contract.
Wilson -- honestly I just don't know enough about this guy.
J. Allen - this year may be his last to stake claim on a starters role.
Green - depth more than starting talent.
