Bonds was a no-doubt 1st ballot HOF before he used steroids. He was an excellent hitter, fielder, and a very good baserunner as well. Its a shame he resorted to steroids to tack on the HR record trophy, which wasn't really necessary for perhaps the most complete player this game has ever had. That being said, he did use steroids (I don't wanna hear ppl say there is no proof. His trainer was the biggest distributor in the sport, so don't be ignorant) and that is cheating. If Rose can be banned as a player for betting on games as a manager then I do think that Bonds should not be allowed in HOF either. It's a shame, but it is what it is.

PS: I do believe both Bonds and Rose will be admitted to the Hall posthumously if not before.

Yes, he's a Hall of Famer, steroids or not. That's the difference between him and the rest of the people who took steroids--they aren't Hall of Famers. What has Mark McGwire done in his career besides break the season home run record? Nothing HoF-worthy, certainly.

Bonds should get in. If he doesn't get in, he still SHOULD be in there.

hof lock... bb regarless of roids, is the best outfielder of my lifetime.

He is without a doubt a HOF player regardless. Not only is he a HOF if he isn't a 1st time ballot it's a joke. Buddy Selig is the worst thing to happen to baseball and he's a joke.

If Barry doesn't get in I don't think anybody from this generation should get in.

Exactly!

On topic: If he had retired in 1999, before he went nuts with home runs and really got roided up he was a lock. Look at his "pre roids" numbers. The guy was basically averaging .300, 30+ HRs, 100+ RBI, 100+ walks and 30+ Steals for 14 years and won three MVP's.

Regardless of whether you want to hear it, there is no proof.

He should be a 1st ballot without a doubt!

Over half the MLB players take steroids, Bonds is just the one whom the media smears. If he doesn't get in the HOF, it's purely a joke. It amazes me how the media points only at Bonds simply because of what he's accomplished. I hope he shatters Aaron's record.

Bonds should be a lock......a first ballot guy.

They've never caught him in any steroid sting. If he had been using it, why havent they caught him doing it yet.

A real class act he is, and I think he gets in on the first ballot.
