"The Code: The Unwritten Rules of Fighting and Retaliation in the NHL"

heres some articles about it and a link to amazon that has an excerpt. even if your not a hockey fan this is a must read IMO because the fact that the NHL allows fighting gets tossed around alot and its good to know what exactly goes into a fight. Its not just 2 guys pounding on each other for no reason.

any references to the great pioneers: dave tiger williams or dave the hammer schultz?

I loved watching Brashears fight when he was with my Flyers. I think it is just a part of hockey and no big deal.

i really hate when people say its not part of the game. Their job is to fight, stir things up inject some life in to the team by doing those things. Hockey fights arent like basketball or baseball fights where fights result from dirty play whether a hard foul or a HBP. Hockey fights are 2 guys agreeing to square off and thats what makes it sweet.
