The top drive time show on WEEI mocked the Dolphins yesterday... They basically said it doesn't even matter if Dolphins win because they will only finish 8-8 or 9-7 anyway...

21min mark for comment about Dolphins finishing 8-8 after a 4-0 start.

They are really underestimating this Dolphins team. They think they only won the Raider game because of trick plays, completely ignoring the team speed.

Its very strange to believe that the Dolphins will finish 8-8 after going 4-0...

Wasn't the Philly Special a trick play used to beat the Pats in the SB??

GOOD! cant wait to see their smug faces if we win the division

Well, first, why do you care what the Boston media thinks? Sports talk radio is awful everywhere, and Boston is no exception. Granted it’s better than Miami sports radio, but that’s a very low bar to clear.

Also, just because a team starts out on fire doesn’t mean that they’re going to keep up the pace. I hope they win this week and I hope they keep it up. But faltering down the stretch is something that’s happened before to this team. Started 3-0 in 1998, didn’t win the division. Started 4-0 in 1995, didn’t win the division, and barely made the playoffs— before being promptly booted (and that was with Shula and Marino).

I just found it interesting to get the Boston perspective. Its understandable they don't fear the Dolphins given history, but they seem to be very much underestimating this particular Dolphin team.

Yes, I know many Dolphin teams have faltered down the stretch, but to be THAT confident that a 4-0 team that is 4-0 in the conference and 2-0 in the division seems a bit much. Patriots would be a in a rather big hole if they lose this game unless the Dolphins absolutely collapse. A 1-3 team chasing a 4-0 team in the division with essentially a 4-game lead for the division, that's hard for ANY team, even the mythical Patriots.

The Boston Media discounts everyone when it comes to the Patriots. In fairness it's what they've know for 17+ years. To them every QB sucks other than Brady, Brees, Rodgers, maybe Big Ben and of course Payton when he was playing, just the way it is. They always count @ Miami as a win even though the Patriots always struggle there and are very unknowledgeable about other teams. The best example I can think of is I actually heard one of their hosts wondering if Cam Wake covering Rob Gronkowski was a bad matchup for them. That might have been the absolute dumbest thing I heard them say (Dale Arnold).

Let's take a step back. If we win this week, would you be surprised if we went 5-7 the rest of the way?

I know I wouldn't. Would I be disappointed, of course, but after 15 years of being either mediocre or just plain bad, 5-7 is not anything to be surprised about. It's not like we played 3 juggernauts so far. It's not like we blew away three mediocre teams.

I'm not trying to be a Debbie downer, just trying to caution the over excitement.

Denial is one of the steps they must progress through to deal with the passing of their relevance.

Completely normal for blind ### fans.
