I usually don't start posts about firing this or that person, but we seriously have to change our defensive and offensive coordinators. Our defense has absolutely NO killer instinct. They play with NO aggression. Even Wake has disappeared for the most part this season. With the overall talent we have on the defensive side of the ball, this is inexcusable. We have regressed dramatically under Coyle and our defense just got embarrassed by a 3rd string QB with basically no WRs that anyone has ever heard of. We got embarrassed by their ground game. The only reason we got the pick was because of a bad throw. It wasn't a good play at all. Just a bad throw. Our rush defense has fallen so far from years past that it's pretty alarming. Someone mentioned Rex Ryan as defensive coordinator in an earlier post. I kind of chuckled at it at first. NOW, well...it's got to be better than Coyle...easily actually. This team needs a little spirit - offensively and defensively.
Offensively, I can identify the play we're going to run right away the majority of the time. There is no creativity whatsoever. The opposing defenses are rarely, if ever, surprised. I honestly do not know how we've won 8 games. IF Sherman and Coyle are back next season, I will ****ing puke. HORRIBLE play calling on BOTH sides of the ball. I even question the preparation for this game all around. We started horribly and ended horrendously. We barely broke 100 yards of total offense. And we did only because of a 50 yard pass to Hartline that obviously didn't matter.
Lastly, we need to draft O-line with every ****ing pick we have in the next draft (UNLESS we can get lucky enough to get Ebron from UNC. But after that it's o-line, o-line, o-line.) I'm literally sick of this Jekyl and Hyde ****. This team has major issues and it starts in the trenches on both sides of the ball. Offensively we just suck at run blocking and pass protecting. Defensively, we lack ANY kind of killer instinct. We do not punch the opposing team in the mouth. Instead we are the other team's BITCH. We need a defensive coordinator that can make this team play with fire. Coyle is NOT that guy. And Mike Sherman is a heap of **** and it's compounded by the lack of even an average o-line.
