Dolphins at Bills

MDS’s take: No team surprised me more in Week One than the Bills, who look like they’ve developed an offense that takes advantage of EJ Manuel’s strengths and a defense that has talent all over the field. Buffalo might just be a playoff team. Who saw that coming?

MDS’s pick: Bills 24, Dolphins 20.

Florio’s take: Both teams were surprise winners in Week One. The Bills are riding a rare wave of euphoria, with the team likely not moving for a long time, if ever. If they can do what they did to the Bears in Chicago, they can find a way to hold serve at home against a division rival.

Florio’s pick: Bills 24, Dolphins 20.

I think its fair.

We haven't played Buffalo well recently, they had a great road win vs Chicago, they are now at home.... they should be favored.

This game is essentially a coin flip for me. I think this game is much more important for the Bills than it is for us though. Every game feels like a must win obviously but Buffalo and Miami are still realistically looking at the wildcard as the way in and we're in direct competition for that spot. If we win Buffalo is pretty much eliminated from the race. If they win we're still essentially neck and neck.

...EJ Manuel’s strengths...

That made me chuckle.

Anyhow, I recall all preseason that the story in Chicago was how terrible their defense is, possibly one of the worst in the league. That tells me that Buffalo's surprising offensive power in week one might be a bit overblown. I expect (hope) that their offense will receive a bit of a reality check this week.

I partially agree with you, I think it can go either way but to say Buf will be eliminated from playoff contention in week 2 I disagree with. the playoff race hasn't even really begun. A win will be big for either team, a loss will not be a crusher.

Wow!!! Thank goodness Florio is picking against us, nobody really wants that airhead in their corner, picking them for anything...talk about kiss of death.
