Never had it during the Morono era, now the Philbin era. So many times this year and last year this team could of put of away numerous teams, but has failed. Whether it's poor coaching, conservative play-calling, FG's instead of TD's, missed FG's, or lack of player execution, this team just does not know how to put teams away when they have the chance. Last week, the Chargers should of never of got the ball back at the end of the game. Luckily, the D bailed them out. This week: you see what happens when you play not to lose with a lead, YOU LOSE. Also, does Philbin know you are allowed to go for it on 4th down? Should of never of attempted the FG with Sturgis. Either go for it or play field position. In the end, we had so many opportunities to put this game away, but like most other Dolphin games, we did not -- and it cost us big time. HUGE LOSS. Carolina was ripe for the taking and we gave them the game.

If only we had more bullies on this team...

I completly agree. We are like a bunch of school girls in a football uni... we play way too soft

This team plays better when they are behind. When the team has a lead -- especially a rare two possession lead --- they have no clue what to do with it.

I kept thinking in the 4th Q Carolina is use to winning and Miami is use to losing, that's the simple version.

How can you not score one single point on offense in the 2nd half? The defense was pretty good overall but in the 2nd half they couldn't get Newton on the ground. It's one thing to pressure him another to get him on the ground. They did a good job of that in the 1st half and they just didn't finish some of the plays in the 2nd. On a positive note I couldn't believe how many nice plays Carroll made today. What has gotten into him? The defense is good enough to win games but you have to score a little more than 0 points in a half.

I'd rather see them try to close a game instead of run out the clock but good grief they hardly attempted any runs at all late in that game when killing some clock would have helped. They must of have left minutes of game time on the clock for Carolina to work with. Offense made it about as difficult as possible for defense to finish it.

They don't have any heart either. They let Cam march down the field like it was nothing. I've seen it all year.

Sparano to Philbin - Wash

Henning to Sherman - Wash

Henne to Tannehill - Wash

Ireland to....to...AH HA! I found our problem

Mike Wallace sums up the Dolphins' problems: "We've got to have a killer instinct. I don't think we have that well."

Didn't I just say that less than an hour ago?

Good players. Coaches who cannot motivate the players or utilize their strengths. Bad play calling. No heart. = Mediocre crap team

Predictable and boring to watch. I had faith for this regime.....but no more with these guys.

Good post. My sentiments are similar. There is a lack of leadership that winning teams have. Particularly on offense. I believe in Tannehill but that young man has so much weight on his shoulders with the absence of a consistent run game and a league worst offensive line. There is a winning team here but the pieces are not put together.

I'm reminded of watching the winning Dolphins in the 90's with Marino who never had a franchise running back and a lacking defense.

Not a Killer instinct. It's Tannehill than killer instinct. He has numerous, chance to win these games like a QB is supposed too but consistently can't deliver. He had numerous chances today against Carolina, also against NE and Baltimore earlier in the year and against Tampa Bay. Just can't make the right decisions during crucial moments in a game and deliver the proper pass
