Bowden + Karras

I like Bowden being a vocal leader there. It says a lot of how our team acknowledges the position they’re in right now. He looks determined. It only bodes well for him from here on out. Love his confidence. He’ll have a chip on his shoulder for this game

Why does our veteran Karras need to be pepped up? Was he playing injured? Did he miss a block? On the other hand, gotta love the Bowden energy. It will take this energy from each player to reach the top this year.

Jon Gruden thought Lynn Bowden Jr. was a "bad influence" on the Raiders

He seems like a high energy guy on and off the field. Some times that energy gets guys in trouble if not channeled properly.

I remember Bowden tried to give Flores a high five after the Bengals brawl. Flores just looked him dead in the eyes, Bowden walked away.

I am hoping this is Bowden's revenge game.

Bowden has a VERY real chance to affect our draft strategy for the upcoming draft. If he can put up two more solid games, he may convince the front office to downgrade their efforts to draft a slot WR.

If we were to go into next season with Bowden as the starter and Perry as his immediate back-up in the slot, this would remove a good number of the the higher rated WRs from our board. I know this is absolute heresy, especially to the slobbering Alabumble fans, but a rising young talent in the slot would completely refocus our draft efforts onto pure flanker-type WRs.

Neither Parker, nor Williams looks like a dominant, injury free 1A receiver, though both are very good, so bringing in a first (or early second) day receiver has always made sense... and it'll make even more sense if Bowden has become the man inside.

Karras, to me, still only appears to be an average Center. Sure, he's better than what we had last year, but he has a whiff of Jesse Davis about him-- looking like an average skilled, but try-hard player. He isn't huge at 305#, and he wasn't highly regarded coming out (6th round pick). He didn't start for his first three years in the league... and he just has that journeyman look to him.

When I go back to the so-called Patriot way that we are emulating, he is the exact sort of player that Belly always let walk at the end of their initial contract, always refusing to overpay for average to good players... and that is EXACTLY what we'd have to do with Karras, overpay him.

Several months back, I suggested that Karras would ask for 3 years/30 million and settle for 3 years/24 million and I was positively laughed out of the thread... and now, some of the same people who openly laughed at me are now suggesting that we'll be willing to give him 6-8 million a year. It's amazing how things change.

The only way that I see Karras sticking with us for another year is if he and his agent look at next year's lower salary cap and decide to wait one more year to try to cash in, but he'll be 28 in March and his time is ticking away.

I think Bowden gonna have a huge game today. Revenge game. Starting him in my fantasy finals .

I think Bowden can become another Jarvis Landry for us but with an ability to control his passion and not inflict boneheaded harm.
