I think the Jets made a smart move hiring Bowles, I really rate him. Ryan has lots of toys to play with on defence in Buffalo and then you have Belichick.

And we have Philbin.

Last season I was expecting a Wild Card and one playoff win. I have next to no enthusiasm for 2015, maybe the draft will change that.

#depressed.

Talking of Belichick this is a good read; (can`t see Philbin being this smart!)

It didn't matter who the jets hired as HC. Phailbin would still be the worst coach in the division

Sounds like wins...lol.

I am still hopeful, smart yet dumb enough to think when Tannenbaum takes over in February he will fire Joe and hire is ex-client Quinn. LOL.

I am not blown away by Bowles or Ryan.. Yeah, Rex's defense is going to be scary, but isn't he going to have the same problem that he couldn't fix in NY?

And Bowles? Is he a proven commodity? As a defense coordinator, maybe, but would you really want Bowles coaching the Dolphins with Chan Gailey calling Tannehill's plays? Or stick with what we got and give Hickey another year to churn the roster?

I'd rather wait til next offseason and take our chances then.. not much to choose from this offseason (besides Harbaugh who no one had a shot at from the get go)

Is everyone really threatened by Todd Bowles, Chan Gailey, Geno Smith and EJ Manual?

I'll wait until I see what shakes out in FA and the draft before going outside with my steel umbrella for protection from large blue chunks falling from above.

I think Bowles will be an average HC like Philbin. The only difference is that Philbin has proven to not be head coach material but he is still here...

The Dolphins will finish 3rd or lower in the AFC East.

It's funny, the only time the Dolphins have finished 2nd in the AFCE under Philbin was his first year at 7-9

I think both Bowles and Rex are much better coaches than Philbin . . . . but the problem with those 2 teams still remain who is going to QB for them?

That is where Miami does have an advantage so the end result may favor us.

Still, Philbin is awful and next year is not looking very promising right now. Hopefully a solid FA and draft period can help change some of that perception.

Rex will ruin Buffalo, especially with the QB situation there.

Bowles may be a good hire, be he's also never been a HC anywhere in his career and the new Jets GM in is also a first timer. I dont expect them to be a good team for at least a few years, but they are taking over with a great cap situation.

I'm not a big Philbin fan at all but imo Ryan will never be a great HC and the reason is simple. He thinks like a DC and not like a HC. He hates the offense of his own team. Nothing but a jerk just like his dad who was a good DC but won nothing as a HC. Bowles has never been a HC so it's wait and see what he does. Can he handles New York? Time will tell.

Bowles deserves a shot at being a HC, but he's still unproven.

I understand and agree why Philbin has a low approval rating, but can't put Bowles ahead of him yet until we see how he runs the team. Same with Rex really. Great defensive mind, but unless he proves that he's gonna embrace offense a bit, it's not like he's way ahead of us.

Biggest loser in everything? Doug Marrone.

I'm glad neither the bills or jets got Quinn, I think he has the most potential...he's one of the few coaches that play all of his defensive players giving them game experience and building a strong bench.

Yes it doesnt sound like he's made much of an impression on the teams he's interviewed with. He may regret opting out of his contract.

He opted out because he thought he had the Jets deal locked down. He didn't impress Woody. He has former assistants ripping him for being manipulative, egotistical, and hard to work with. Falcons seem content to wait for Quinn or McDaniels, Bears interviewed him but they also have guys like Fox begging for the job, Oakland and San Fran aren't even looking his way, and I doubt Denver does.

Even without a good quarterback, Ryan managed to beat us once a year for the past 5 years.

He was an interim head coach for us when Sparano got fired. We were 2-1 under him whereas we went 4-9 in the first 13 games of that season. If Bowles pays any attention at all to the offensive side of the ball (and with their cap situation they can be very agressive in FA), I think the Jets will be better than a 4-12 team.

Oh ok, beating the Dolphins once a year must be the benchmark for good coaching.

Being an interim head coach for a few games is hardly the same thing.
