I would rather bring in an UDFA than keep Sapp on this team.:err:
Dolphins notes: Benny Sapp has advantage over ailing Will Allen for final cornerback spot

DAVIE — Veteran cornerbacks Benny Sapp and Will Allen are likely battling for the third cornerback job and a roster spot this training camp.
But Allen's health may be the determining factor.
Allen, who turned 33 last week, missed his fourth straight practice Tuesday because of an undisclosed injury. While Sapp, 30, has played with the first-team nickel defense the past four days, Allen has been relegated to conditioning drills on the sideline with teammate Jake Long, who has started the season on the Physically Unable to Perform list.
Allen, once a model of consistency, started at least 12 games a year from 2001-08 with the Giants and Dolphins. But he suffered a torn ACL in the sixth game of the 2009 season and hasn't been right since. He missed the final 10 games in 2009, then had an arthroscopic procedure last August to reduce swelling in the knee. That surgery ultimately landed him again on Injured Reserve, forcing him to miss all of 2010.
Sapp said he's not thinking about Allen's injury being an advantage for him.
"I never let my guard down," Sapp said. "There's always competition, that's what keeps me going. I just try to do what got me here every year."

oh god. just put carrol in if this is the case. if i have to watch another year of sapps garbage im gonna be pissed

We don't know how hard Benny Sapp has been training this offseason...

Sapp wasn't to bad last year, and besides W.Allen is always injured, time to let go.

I'm am going to try and be optimistic for once and say this has more to do with Tony's new policy of taking it easier on the vets. I understand both are hurt, but I am hoping they could play if needed.

Surprised at the Sapp hate. Wasn't really expecting Allen to come back this year anyway.

What I wanna know is why people (including the coaching staff) thought Will Allen was automatically gonna be able to play and play well when he hasn't even been able to get any work in (as of yesterday listed above Sapp on the depth chart behind Sean Smith). Call me crazy but I think we're missing Jason Allen right about now.

Hell no, JA has broken my heart and teased us too many times

not worried. Because of Carroll but evenmoreso because of jimmy wilson. I am thinkin this dude is going to move up to the front 8. Not right away, but if this kid is said to be able to play 3 spots, then they will move him into the rotation.
