Brad Johnson wants to start...

Why would we want a another former pro bowler who actually has won a ring, we got Gus the best 29th rated QB in the league. Gus is much fresher than Brad being that he has sat on the bench for about the last 7 years. I think the only upgrade would be Jamie Martin.
 
I was actually thinking that if Gus did not re-sign (for whatever reason) he may be a good option. Also, if Nick decides to open things up for competition, Johnson may know the Minnesota system that Linehan ran a little and could compete. It would definitely make for an interesting training camp!

That's an interesting thought. Is he a FA or something?
 
We could have had Johnson last offseason if we wanted him, and Saban passed. If he's available this offseason, I expect the same outcome.

My god, that's insanity. Gus can't hold Johnson's jock. And I'm not even a huge fan of Johnson... but he would be an enormous upgrade.

Johnson this year: 62.6 comp %, 12tds, 4 INTs. rating 88.9
Ferotte this year: 52.0 comp %, 18tds, 13 INTs, rating 71.9

Not even close.

Stop hating on Gus and look at the big picture here Gus is a better option because he is already on the same page with the players and knows the playbook plus he has an arm for Linehan system. Brad Johnson does not have the arm to be in our system!

1- I don't hate Gus. I just don't want him to be our starting quarterback. No one sane would.

2- Gus rode "being on the same page and knowing the system" all the way to a horrible, crappy year. If "knowing" gets you to a 71 rating and the 28th ranked QB in the league, get me someone ignorant.

3- KNowing the system is bull anyway. Any QB worth anything will know the system before training camp starts. Quality at QB matters far, far more than knowing the system.

4- Brad Johnson doesn't have the arm? Since when?

5- Did you even look at the difference between these two?
