No one is talking about our offensive line coach maybe that guy is the problem. I know he and Tony S are pals but lets face it the OL has been a issue since day 1. Almost every coach from 3-4 years ago is gone and we have seen an improvment so maybe this guy should go to. We can see why the OL was a priority in the draft this year as it now the issue. Just maybe Tony saw the problem just addressed it the wrong way and instead of getting a new player like Pouncy he should have gotten a new OL coach. There is no reason that Carey should be overwieght none at all and I simply blame that on the coach, wieght is a issue that be corrected talent cannot. Having the same coach these past 4 years and still have these problems means the OL coach needs to go.
We fired our original O-line coach after the 2008 season. DeGuglielmo joined the team in January of 2009 so he was here when we had our best rushing team in 2009.
Fiction the line has been degressing from 09. During 08 there was at least the excuse that they were using players that did not fit there scheme from Muelers tenure. Since this guy has shown up Carey has gotten fatter each year, Gardner has stayed injured and Donald Thomas the 6th round pick in 08 that everyone was so happy with around here is off the team. Grove, Smiley our big free agent signing that were suppose to fix the line turned out to be a shell of what they were. Do the math everything has gone backwards and thats with 3 first round Dolphin picks on the line. If you pay attention we have no pulling guards, instead a pulling center and our stud LT is recuperating off IR.
Gotta disagree about Grove and Smiley. They were pretty darn good for us that year. I think we were top 5 in rushing and our line was dominant. The problem with them was injuries not talent.

beyond last year's mediocre performance, this has been an overachieving line since this regime came in. with the exception of 2 preseason games this year, this line has been average but never dipped to horrible during Sparano's term.
...and Carey has always been fat. dude's had weight issues since he first came in.
how do you act like the failure of a 6th round pick, hyped up by the media and fans, is the measuring stick of this coaching staff's ability. at least go after Jerry.

I could go after a host of other picks they have all failed "except" Pouncy and Long. The list of free agents that have floated through on the OL would choke a horse. So far we have Rich Incognito to show for it. Offensive linemen take time to progress thats a given our guys regress.
