Look, it's a long season.

We lost a tough game to a championship team on the road.
It happens.

What really troubles me though isn't what the Steelers D did to our offense, that was expected.

What's troubling is what a Charlie Batch led Steeler offense did to our Defense........ Charlie friggin Batch.

This guy has been a dishrag his entire lackluster career and we made him look like Terry Bradshaw.

That is what is embarrassing and monumentally dissapointing. This game should have been a lock down by both defenses and it wasn't.

That secondary will hopefully gel as the season goes on.
Clearly they need more time.
Maybe they can use the lessons learned in this game.

On to next week and hopefully greener pastures.

BAtch is a career backup!!

HE will never be good!! HE just had 1 good game!!

Out of 10 times he will only have 1 good game and it was last nite

Pittsburgh's team is set up for success at the QB spot, no matter who is back there. Their team's main strengths will always be the defense and the running game. I mean, look at the game logs from last year - Pittsburgh won three games where Roethlisberger attempted 15 passes or less. It's a very similar scenario to Denver, where you can throw in a guy like Mike or Tatum Bell & watch these very mediocre backs tear defenses apart.

Not to take anything away from Roethlisberger, because he's an excellent QB just like Terrell Davis was an excellent back. The point is, the strength is within the defense & "power" running game, so you can throw mediocre at the position and beat the best teams in the league. Let's throw a Charlie Batch at QB behind our offensive line, with our woeful secondary. The success won't be nearly as close - in fact, those 3 TD passes would probably be 3 INT's.

Big ben really isn't that good. The steelers run a offense where it's all about the system. Even A.J Feeley could run the offense. The steelers had a balanced attack against us and all charlie batch had to do was make 1 play when it counts. I thought out secondary did a great job. Just think when we finally start knocking down the big boy on the o-line how bad everyone is gonna want a goodman jersey

I don't fault the defense for Batch having a good game. The TD to Miller was a bad play plain and simple and the defense messed up, but other than that Batch made some nice throws and nice reads. Many of their completions were actually defended pretty nicely, but if a route is run the way it is supposed to and the QB makes the throw sometimes your going to get beat.

its the system

Wel, if it soothes your mind just a little, Charlie Batch is 3-0 as the Pittsburgh backup these last two years. We're not the only victims.

And really, the play that made him a hero and changed the game for good was an 8yd pass to Miller that he ran for 80+ yards b/c of a mental error by the Dolphin D.

Nontheless, a bit embarrasing for sure.
