Brady Quinn signs

They didn't pick up Tebow cause they didn't want the circus that follows that guy. And having all the Tebow groupies clammering for him to start if Tannehill throws a bad pass.

Brady Quinn, Kyle Orton and Tim Tebow... Wasn't that the entire Bronco quarterback group three seasons ago?

I'm sure he gets to keep his gig if he is cut before the season, I just don't understand why he would want to take a temporary job as a QB in preseason games unless he is given some hope of sticking with the team past the preseason.

I just don't think the risk of life-long injury is worth the low amount of money (by NFL standards) and a few weeks playing QB against scrubs... But maybe he does.

Holy drama queen. You're factoring in one of the most extreme circumstances.

They need an arm to throw passes to the scrubs while Moore and Devlin nurse injuries Obviously Quinn has a competitive spirit and values playing football. He knows at the very least he gets paid for a couple weeks then he can go back to the studio during the regular season is nothing pans out.

On a team that went to the playoffs and won one (ya...the rest of the team REALLY made it happen, but you can't convince some people around here that success was only because they had an elite QB).

Every time you step out on the field you are risking your long term health. There is nothing drama queen about that statement.

What is "competitive" about playing in some preseason games against third stringers without the possibility of the opportunity turning into a more permanent position? The coaches MUST be telling him he has a shot to stay on the roster past the preseason. I just can't envision a former first-rounder loving the game so much that he would risk his longterm health to play in some glorified intramural games for 3 weeks with no potential reward other than a quick paycheck.

The hard part about trading Moore is that 5.5 cap number...I don't think anyone wants to take that on...they'd probably rather see if u cut him and them sign him for a couple mil less even with performance incentives factored in

Brady Quinns win-loss record is 3-16 and has never been in a play off game.

Tim Tebow win-loss record is 8-6 and is 1-1 in the play offs. His QB rating in the play offs is 90.0.
You should put all of this info in the cool story basket

I know I'm a whore, but I wouldn't blink at taking the $50,000 or $100,000 two weeks work (I doubt he'll ever see the $2 million). With the limit on contact in practice and the fact that the defense gets a 15 yard penalty for farting on a qb I don't think he's at great risk of injury.

All part of Joe's master plan.

Sign Brady.
Brady's sister is married to A.J. Hawk
Convince Hawk to come play in Miami.
Hawk signs and Wheeler is cut.
Wheeler retires and takes Omar's job.
Kevin Bacon buys the team from Ross.
Championship

The way that depth olines played in week 1 of the preseason all depth qbs are in danger...I saw an awful lot of bad line play around the league with the depth...

I have not one issue with this signing. First, they might have had disastrous reps with Devlin through the rest of the QB's. Second, Matt Moore's cap number is crazy. Three, maybe they sign Quinn…cut him and bring him back after Week One.

No problem with this signing.
