What does that really say about Brady Quinn ? If he's such a great prospect why would a team in desperate need of a qb pass on him ? The answer is they wouldn't !

Oakland- most of us want to them to draft Calvin Johnson. I THINK at the end of the day they can't pass Jamarcus Russell. I know there's this talk of them trading for Culpepper, yea right. Most everyone on this board, and the Dolphins organization have their doubts about Daunte resurrecting his career. After all it's been 2 years. The Raiders cant be that stupid. I agree they're not the greatest run franchise out there. Than again neither are we.

Detriot- I admit they probably wont draft Quinn, but they should. Kitna is 34. It would be the perfect situation to have Quinn sit a year or 2, and not hang the savior tag on him right away. So they probably go with Gaines if they cant trade out.

Cleveland- I think it's exagerated wishful thinking if anyone truly believes that Cleveland is completely sold on Charlie Frye. They have some pretty good offensive weapons on board. A qb upgrade does make sense. They could also go the Peterson route. However, since almost everyone here agrees value at Qb is much harder to find. Passsing on Peterson makes sense because quality rbs can be found outside the 1st round. If I were them I would go Peterson, BUT...... I'm not them.

Tampa- Calvin Johnson is their pick. They do have plethra of qbs. Let me elaborate a plethra of average qb's. Garcia is the guy this year, he's 37. Can you honestly say Simms is going to be a great qb ? Would you want him in a fins uni ? I'd imagine if his father didn't have 2 rings it wouldn't be necessary to even mention his name. The kid had every chance to be a player. He had great mentors. If the light hasn't come on yet it aint going to. A qb pedigree, sure. A Manning, NO. You see where I'm going with this. Could they rationally pick Quinn ? Is he clearly better than what they have on their roster? That remains to be seen. I know many of you would say he is or at least has greater pontential to be. I sticking with Johnson, once again BUT.....

Cardinals- their set.

Washington- they drafted Campbell even if they wanted Quinn they really couldn't. Not enough picks, and too many needs. But they could trade down with somebody other than us. Maybe Carolina. Why would Carolina trade ? Well Quinn is premiere prospect. Quoting many on this board when you have a chance to get a franchise qb you pull the trigger.

Minnesota- drafted a qb in the second last year. If you've read the Ohiobryan scouting report Quinn is a cant miss prospect, and will lead you 3 maybe 4 superbowls. I know he doesn't represent the majority of the ProQuin regime, but there is always 2 or 3 guys right on board with him. Seriously, if Quinn can be as good as you suspect why would Minnesota pass on him. How often does a franchise qb fall in your lap ?

Miami- if he falls to us it probably means that the teams in front of us have doubts about Quinn being a franchise prospect.

If we do draft him I'll support the move because I'm fan. Is my opinion absolute. Absolutely not ! I think we are better served getting a qb in the second to groom, and pick a player in the first that makes us a better team this year. Let's give Zach and Jason a fighting chance.

Really??? Matt Leinart slipped to 10.
Also, ever heard of a guy named Dan Marino?
The Defense rests.

so basically your saying unless your the number one overall pick your not going to be any good?? I mean i understand where your coming from...But some teams have qb's there already grooming, some may doubt Brady Quinn, some may think Brady Quinn doesnt fit their system, others may be satisfied at where their present qb's stand....Their are lots of factors that play into where Brady Quinn ends up...and well be lucky if he ends up on our team..

Marino slipped because a rumor of use of drugs came out against him....and Leinart is a better QB prospect than Quinn...so Quinn could drop even further than 10.

Look no further than last year. Houston, NYJ, Green Bay, Oakland, Buffalo, Detroit. All passed on Lienart. Both New Orleans & Tennessee could have taken him too. He was the best QB in the draft IMO.

True, but my point was that just because a player slips doesn't mean he's not a good prospect as the orginal poster suggested.

And as much as you want to believe otherwise, there is zero chance Brady Quinn falls any further than #9.

The defense is fired ! Marino had an alleged cocaine problem. IMO Leinart was and is a better prospect. My opinion only.

Exactly my point! According to your original point good prospects don't fall. You said it in your very first paragraph.
Fact is, good, even great prospects can fall in the draft for any number of reasons.

What I believe is Brady Quinn is an over-hyped QB...and he's at the top of his game...I see Zero room for improvement...and without Weiss...I truely believe he will be lost. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see him drop well past the Dolphins selection.

I think that's wishful thinking on your part. Look, I am not in love with Quinn, but I think he will be better than you think. Are there question marks? Sure are.
But it really doesn't matter what you and I think, what matters is the Dolphins really covet him. He will be the choice at #9 if he's there.
Whether you or I or anyone else around likes it or not.

Hello fishypete - I read alot of what your write and respect your opinion. Just curious though, let's say Quinn is there for us at 9. Who would you prefer the Fins select out of the "realistic" available group of players. Levi Brown, Patrick Willis, Ted Ginn, jr, Amobe Okoye, etc...

quinn must be a fin randy/cam move up and grab him that's an order!

If he did have a problem like that and played as well as he did. I hope brady is the same way if we take him
