I know he does not get a whole lot of pub from those on this site given the Jake Long love fest.

But this kid is special. Really special. In fact, all the teams that pass on him are going to be scratching their head in about three years wondering what the hell they were thinking.

Guys like this kid don't come around very often. In fact, a few years from now it will be pretty obvious that he was best tackle prospect to come out of this draft.

In fact, I would argue it should be pretty obvious right now.

Pittsburgh wishes. He won't get out of the Top 7. Likely not out of the Top 5 at Kansas City.

I'm not talking about second round.

As a guard he's special...as a tackle he's unproven...buyer beware.

So very true.I think he played a grand total of two games in his career at left tackle in his senior year and only because of injuries to the regular left tackle.

His numbers are impressive. His 40,20,10 and 20 yard shuttle are very close to Jake Long. The only 2 stats where he was a bit off was his bench press numbers. He had 23 reps compared to 37 for Thomas.Albert also ran a 7.97 second 3 cone drill versus a 7.44 second 3 cone for Thomas(these were 2 huge numbers that were way off)

Albert had 54 knockdown blocks versus 119 for Thomas
Albert had 12 td resulting blocks versus 18 for Thomas
Albert had 2 penalties all season versus 1 for Thomas
Albert allowed 5.5 sacks in 428 pass plays and Long
allowed 1 sack in 423 pass plays.

Albert and Thomas were both team captains and both
are very bright and interviewed very well before the pro coaches.

I would love to have Albert and Long on the offensive line
but it would require the Dolphins to move up from that 2a pick which would cost us a draft pick to do so and that is what we cannot give up :draft picks"

If somehow Albert did fall to our 2a pick and we had drafted Jake with our number 1 pick we would instantly have one awesome and young offensive line that would dominate for years:hi5:

if anything i would take jake and mabey a package of jt and 32 and a conditional next year to get another first round. that would be an all star line for years to come. i am always against trading picks if u r a rebuilding team but i think we can get a lb in the 4th that can start and the only blaring need left is cb which we can go for in the 3rd. no matter what we do we wont be a playoff team this year so i am all for suring up our oline this year and filling smaller, easier to fill holes next year and i the future.

He is turning into a HUGE wildcard. At one time he was an early second rounder, now hes going as high as 5 or even 3!! Crazy. Im not sure the Cheifs will bite on him that high, but you never know. The Pats love to take physical specimens like him as well. And, oh yeah, Baltimore.
Hes shot up the boards a crazy amount really in the span of a week or two here.

I agree about Brandon Albert. I still think the Dolphins are leaning towards Chris.

That is true but buyer beware at what point Pete?

Someone taking him early first I'd agree but if he were to be picked in the later part of the 1st round and into the 2nd where's the danger?

Getting a special Guard with potential to make the move to Tackle is hardly a bad player to get in that area.
