Dolphins: LT Branden Albert (tore ACL and MCL last year) says he'll play Week 1;

"We all know the answer," Albert said confidently. "I don't think I've got to say nothing too much more. I've been starting with the first team all week. It's continued. So there goes [your] answer. I'm tired of everybody asking me. Y'all got the answer now."

How effective is the brace he'll be wearing at preventing another injury?
 
Were does it say he wearing a brace ?
 
This scares the shot outta me. Our season hinges on the big man. Hope he is ready!!
 
He should be wearing braces on both his knees for the rest of his career. Even with slightly less mobility and at 75- 90% effectiveness, he is much better than our alternative LT's.
This is great news and improves our chances of winning.

I read earlier that he will wear the brace all year. Medically speaking, the brace will not offer him much protection. Given the enormous forces that are generated with hits at high velocity the brace will have little effect. However, it will provide region heat (usually good for flexibility and some discomfort), a continuous reminder for better awareness for Albert and some proprioception (sensory feedback from skin contact of the brace).

Let's just hope nobody falls on his legs or chop blocks.
