they seem kind of similar IMO both tall fast WRs not great route Runners with questionable Hands. i know Lafell isnt as hyped up as Bey was last year but i see a lot of similarities in there game. they have similar body build tall and skiny Bey 6'2 210 pounds Lafell 6'3 206 pounds. if he is anything like Heyward Bey i want no part of him in miami i really dont want him in miami anyways

thoughts?

Lafell is pretty fast but I don't see him running a low 4.3 or even a high 4.3

I never said he was that fast but he is fast and reminds me of bey and that isn't a good thing

stay away...

but be forewarned it seems that ireland likes him a lot

I understand what your concern is but..There is no way we would take him at 12..

He is possible target in 2nd or 3rd round as of right now..

But he also was alot better in college than Heyward - Bey was plus he comes from a better program overall..

When guys are tall and slow (which he runs 4.55 as of now..) its all about if he can get off the bump or not?

So that remains to be seen

Actually this scouting report says he is a polished route runner and he can get off the jam so I would like him in the 2nd maybe 3rd round..

Here are his weaknesses

Weaknesses:
Average timed speed and quickness --- Lacks a burst --- Inconsistent concentration and will drop some balls --- Small hands --- Does not get a lot of separation --- Can he get vertical against pro corners? --- Not very elusive --- Poor balance --- Questionable work ethic --- Immature

Something that worries me...Like Wilford and Turner- No seperation

he ain't going 1st round but he steadily puts up his numbers. not a 1 year fluke.

no i wasnt worried about us taking him at 12 i was just saying he reminded in of bey i wouldnt mind taking a shot at him if he is there in the 3rd round but that is it for me. i also heard he struggled to get off the line in press covrage so if he runs a 4.55 and cant get off the line in press coverage that isnt a good thing he should have went to the senior bowl this week and try and raise his stock

Lafell = Limas Sweed

that's who he reminds me of.

he will probably get drafted at around the same spot as sweed did, and won't do much, just like Sweed.

Nope, not seeing a resemblance. I see him as a poor man's Dwayne Bowe, or as Grey Boy said, Limas Sweed. He's not overly fast, not a very good route runner, has concentration issues that results in drops. He has great size and can make athletic grabs. Yep, reminds me of former LSU WR Dwayne Bowe, just not as good.

his routes dont look to bad. he played well against joe haden, but he has got to work on his hands. i wouldnt take him sooned that the 3rd and thats if there isnt a good te on the board. but like hyridphin said we have enough role players

I would not be surprised at all if we end up with either McClain or Graham in round 1 and LaFell in round 2. As it was stated, Miami has been scouting him heavily and he is a big target. Plus he has been an experienced starter which is what the front office seems to go after.

Sign Karlos Dansby, Ryan Pickett, Antrel Rolle.
Draft
R1: LB- Brandon Graham
R2: WR- Brandon Lafell
R3: DT- Cam Thomas
R4: OL- John Jerry
R6: TE- Colin Peek
R6: LB- Antonio Coleman
R6: LB- Ryan D'Imperio
R7: S- PJ Mahone
R7: CB- AJ Jefferson

nope. LaFell has his flaws, but they aren't as magnified as DHB's were. Everybody knew DHB would be a huge project even before the Raiders drafted him, but he got a first round grade because of his measurables. LaFell isn't a surefire first round pick, but is a more accomplished player than DHB was IMO.
