I'm just tossing this out there because I haven't seen alot people mention him, but I wouldn't be surprised if we drafted Brandon Pettigrew. He has the size that the Trifecta covets, at 6'5" 263 lbs. and with Fasano in a contract year and Martin aging, he could give us some security at the TE position. I still think we go with BPA in terms of value, regardless of our need. Just a thought though since no one has really mentioned him. I have read that the Bills are really wanting him

Really a complete TE, would be IDEAL for this offense.

Think about it, he is ranked as a top 10 BPA by almost every draft mock expert on TV . . . and he did NOT have mind blowing numbers at the combine like Vernon Davis and other guys who have been workout warriors at the position. His tape is what is selling him more than anything else and like you said, with Fasano and Martin both in the last year of their contracts . . . it is very possible that we go after this perfect fitting TE in our offense.

We can push David Martin out wide, and run 3 TE sets . . . I mean it is very possible.

since buffalo know needs a left tackle bad and atlanta no longer needs a te with the tony g trade he will be there at 25. i suspect bill will make the right call at 25.

Would not like it as Tight End is just not that big a need. Fasano can be re-signed or the Front Office can wait till next season and take Gresham and let Fasano go. I would personally rank OLB, ILB, DT, CB and WR higher needs than picking up a Tight End, so I just would not understand going TE that early.

I'm not knocking the talent of Pettigrew, but I think with so many other needs I would'nt like to see Tight End with our first pick, regardless of Pettigrews talent. But if the Front Office go BPA, it could happen.

Honestly, the only REAL need is at CB. We can get by with our LB's, WR's, TE's and NT's right now. Yea it is not ideal, but we can do it. CB u have your only starting CB in the last year of his contract . . . and a bunch of nickel CB's who you hope pan out and step their game up. I call that a glaring need at CB.

At 25, u want to take the BPA . . . and if Pettigrew is that guy, you have to consider him . . . ESPECIALLY with NO TE on this team under contract past this season. On top of that . . . u upgrade the position with a guy who fits better with what we are trying to do. Fasano is an average blocker at best . . . Pettigrew is much more complete than he is in all parts of the TE game.

U have to look past this season as a GM and upgrade the overall talent of your team.

Obviously u base the pick on where u have guys ranked.

If at 25 u can select between Maybin, Vontae Davis, Rey Maulauga, Hakeem Nicks, Ron Brace and Brandon Pettigrew . . . even if Pettigrew is ranked higher than all of those guys on our board . . . need plays a role and u gauge what is best for your team.

In that situation I don't see us pasisng Vontae Davis, that is me tho.

Boomer made this very call 2 weeks ago here

not sure about this one but if thats the way we go then so be it.

I could see this being our pick if he falls to us. Run blocking is his specialty and a pretty decent target for the QB to have in the red zone. I wouldn't be surprised if this happens.

I have seen it mentioned more than you think. Especially now that Atlanta traded for Gonzalez. I think it really depends on what Philly does @ #21. I think it would make lots of sense, you go with BPA. If that were to happen, I would not be shocked if Martin would be dealt for a 6th or 7th rounder during day 2 to another team.

everything is posible..is not the guy I want since we have Fasano and Martin but is posible depending on who's on the board at 25.

Ozzy rules!!

I wouldnt be surprised about anything. We will draft a guy who has an above grade > 25. Pettigrew is definitely in the picture. Wonder if NE is thinking the same thing.

I'd be happy with him at 25. Unless we draft a CB in the 1st round, chances are our first draft pick will not be an immediate starter anyway.
