With two key teammates injured, Andruw Jones knows the Atlanta Braves need power and production from him right now.

No problem. After all, he had a huge season under similar circumstances last year.

Jones hit a pair of two-run homers, Kyle Davies pitched a three-hitter for his first career complete game and Atlanta slowed down the New York Mets with a 7-1 victory Tuesday night.

Kyle Davies pitched a GREAT game tonight. He has good stuff, only 22 years old. He looks like he could be a star.
 
To be more accurate, the Braves routed Victor Scambrano....just like everyone else does. Nothing groundbreaking there.

Thanks a lot Little Jeffery Wilpon and your co conspirarators at the 2004 trade deadline (ex GM) Jim Duquette and pitching coach Rick Peterson. You were so right; Zambrano would be a quick and easy fix and Scott Kazmir would take 2-3 years in the minors to develop. Cause why would anyone want a 98mph throwing lefty with 2 other good pitches? Hmm silly me...last I checked the only other 2 lefties that throw that hard were Unit and Wagner...

I smell Tom Seaver for Jim Fregosi all over again with that deal. Just stop defending it and get that ***rag Zambrano out of here. Ive never seen a pitcher suck so much ***
 
Swisher did the same thing, but against Verlander, which is much more impressive. Verlander is a young a pedro, just watch...mark my words!!! His last game was just bad cuz he said he didnt have his stuff. And pitchers have bad days all teh time when they dont have their stuff...i know exactly what he means, and I believe him...theres still space on the verlander bandwaggon!!!

Actually, it was Nolan Ryan for Jim Fregosi. Seaver was traded for Pat Zachary and a couple nobodies in 1977.
 
Hudson vs Glavine tonight. Glavine doesn't have a good record against Atlanta but Hudson has been garbage so far this season. I wish they could have put Smoltz out there tonight. It should still be a good one.
 
If Atlanta wins tonight, do the Mets cancel their world series ticket sales which go on sale this Monday! LOL

Probably. As we all know, it's going to take 159 wins to take the NL East this year, and with one more loss, the Mets would be guaranteed to fall short.

With the incredibly hard schedule they've played already, it's obvious that a parade in New York is inevitable :rolleyes:
 
I think I heard on the radio that the braves beat the mets again today, and Wright made 3 errors??? :eek:
