So it remains a possibility. I asked a Miami team source recently if there was a possibility the Dolphins might try to land Boldin through trade if he becomes officially available. His reaction surprised me. He didn't say, "No." He didn't say, "That's ridiculous."

He said, "Anquan Boldin is a very good player under contract with another team and I'm not at liberty to discuss him because that would be tampering." At which point I reminded the person I'm not publishing his name, and he said, "That's all I'm saying on that."

The point is my question was not dismissed. It was dodged. And knowing this source, he dismisses questions that have no roots in facts or serious possibility. And he dodges or double-speaks on some legitimate ones he doesn't want to address.

All this is interesting,..could Miami actually think a player is worth a !st and a 3rd?

Boldin is absolutely worth the #25 pick and say a 2010 3rd rounder. Heck yes! I would love that move. But this would probably depend on if MIA is able to re-sign Crowder or land Scott via FA, so that they wouldn't need to draft a LB at #25.

But is $25miil enough to sign Boldin, Scott, "and" Brown while re-signing Carey, Bell, Goodman, and Hill and the draft picks? Would be a heck of an offseason though...:rimshot:

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Miami thinks Boldin is worth a 1st and 3rd. I definitely do.

The problem is that other teams will be willing to give even more for him. Does Zona give us a bit of a discount to keep him out of the NFC? Maybe...but I still think that despite huge interest from the FO on this one, the bidding war will squeeze us out.

i wld love boldin but do not believe FO want to trade numerous picks for anyone.

I think Ireland as stated i interview worries about big name FA pick ups due to the hit they take on the salary cap.

My personal perspective, the Fins won't bring in a big name unless that big name somehow under bid their value.. So the liklies to me are Scott, boddin, Brown if balt. dosen't resign him. We may take one of the elder WR's on a short deal.. and then a lot of FA's who may have potential but aren't a well known commodity.. I'm wavering with this, but I think we keep Bell and Carey, and then it's draft baby draft..

I would rather take a much cheaper Hakim Nicks.
