Breaking News: Manning To Be Released Tomorrow

ESPN is reporting that the Indianapolis Colts will hold a joint press conference tomorrow afternoon with Peyton Manning to announce that Manning will be released from the team making him an unrestricted free agent. No word on whether or not Stephen Ross will be in attendance with pen and a contract. Manning’s 14 year career will come to a close with the Colts but through his agent and close associates is not done playing football and will play in 2012.

Sure he could lead us to the playoffs....sure he could, with many pieces falling in place, lead us back to the big show...but, are we getting our own leader, our own legend-to-be, albeit the gamble that that kind of bet allways commands? what do you mean bro ? bk to this situation ? hell we havent had a QB SINCE marino and really havent contend each year , so imo we have nothing to lose in trying to get peyton in here and finally win another SB before i die , and ross knows we have nothing to lose because since he has been here in miami he hasnt seen or even come close to a franchise QB , SO IMO LETS GET LOSE AS A GOOSE AND GAMBLE (SACRAFICE) a lil bit and maybe we start winning again as we did when Marino was here in miami..

I agree with all that and share in your apprehension on this move. Wasn't there actually 4 neck surgeries though?

So what does this mean, any team inline can pick him up if they're willing to pick up his contract, for $28 million, then he becomes a free agent when he clears the free agent wire?

Well the first thing we do is make an actual offer instead of these stupid little market feelers to see what kind of money we'd be getting involved in. We know the money value here, now get on the phones and start working them. Get in the race for real with no playing chicken all out, full court press and still pick up your future puzzle piece at QB to keep it rolling. Dump Columbo, Sign Langford and get that strong effective right guard we need or work Jerry in there. Pick up or aquire our true # 2 receiver and your looking at a minimum 10 wins season consistant team with quite a few playoff game seasons at the very least and who knows what gems will happen when your in it all the time?
