The Dolphins have settled on Gus Frerotte as their starting quarterback while demoting A.J. Feeley to a third-string role behind Sage Rosenfels, a source said Saturday.

Gus Frerotte is out starting Quarterback, Sage Rosenfels is our backup, and A.J. Feeley is once again a THIRD STRING QB, let alone on our team. I am not surprised one bit by any of these decisions and I am behind Saban and this team 100%... We may be in for a long season but I'm glad our starter was finally announced and I hope Saban sticks with his decision, doesn't second guess himself, and I trust his judgement. It is official, Gus Frerotte is the starting QB. Sage Rosenfels is our back-up and AJ Feeley has been demoted to 3rd string. Now may these QB debates and threads please be put at rest and not escalade even worse than ever. Saban had to decide and I agree with his decision 100% and I can't wait Opening Day against Denver.
 
I still dont truly understand it.. If you look at all 5 games, the performances of Feeley and Frerotte are basically on par.. But Frerotte has a better command, but still sucks.. Not sure why Feeley gets dropped to 3, but Frerotte starts. Id rather Sage start at this point honestly.
 
Feeley costs too much to be a 3rd string QB, and he has a 3 million dollar bonus due in the offseason, there is no way he is on this team next year, we have to cut him.

Given a chance to show his stuff, Feeley starts, completes 4 passes, and throws a pick 6.. Parcells would have just cut the guy... I like Feeley but give me a break..
 
Well how about that. Two years ago Feeley was the third-string QB for the Eagles. Then Spielman traded a second-round draft pick for him. And now he's already back to third string. I wouldn't mind if they released him and brought in Couch. I actually almost wanted Sage to start, and I hope he gets a chance if Gus plays poorly early in the season.

I think that would've been the right move too. Personally I would still start AJ but if you're going to demote him to 3rd you might as well cut him

I think he'll be alright with that girlfriend of his. Unless, of course, she is embarrassed by this decision and dumps him.

Dude... Have you seen Gus's play? Did you see the Steelers game? There was a 6 the other way involved in that as well.. No bones about it, they both suck... truly.. suck hard.. Like Pam Anderson style.. Its grotesque. Cut both of them and start Sage, bring Brock back and Rohan.

I wont be able to handle a never-has been and never will be playing like a mediocre POS for 16 games.. Id rather a nobody play like mediocre POS for 16 games.
 
Guys, why is everyone so down on this? I think it was pretty much expected. Now as dolphins fans lets except sabans choice and get behind gus, no matter who you thought should start. The fact is right now he is our qb and we should all back him. Now lets cut out all the controversy crap
