Breaking News: Reports from Denver saying Dolphins will pick Mike McCoy as Head Coach

I don't think anyone on this board is qualified enough to say whether McCoy will be a good Head Coach for us or not.

But the uninspiring nature of our player and coach selection continues. With the exception of Marshall (who has partially delivered, but not fully on his talent), not one single appointment of coach or player has felt inspirational or exciting to this jaded fanbase in YEARS.

For once, can this team not do SOMETHING TO GET ME EVEN A BIT EXCITED about the future? ANYTHING????

All I've seen is bitching about hiring Fisher, bitching about losing Fisher, bitching about hiring Philbin, bitching about not hiring Philbin, and now bitching about possibly hiring McCoy. There might be three people on this forum who really know enough about any of the coaching candidates to render judgement but everyone's a GM.

Stop being miserable and give whoever is hired a chance to prove themselves.

Welcome to Finheaven.......

So many nearsighted people around here...Denver's offense looked bad at times last year because TEBOW is terrible. Everyone knows that in the Denver organization. Yet Coach McCoy built an offense on the fly to find a way to compete. Good lord people. This guy can COACH!

I have been able to confirm local news in Denver did report last night Mike McCoy would be named Head Coach of #Dolphins.

I agree, Tebow steak is garbage he's a running back playing quarterback.

With all the reports that have come out lately, I will believe it when he is sitting next to Ross at a press conference.

I think a lot of people on here believe McCoy is terrible simply because he is the guy we (allegedly) picked as HC

I will withold my judgement until I see how he does when the games start. He wasn't my first choice when this process began either but good lord, give the guy a chance. A lot of people in the league seem to hold him in high regard, and as a lot of you have pointed out on other threads, there have been a few articles published lately that speak positively about him and have changed some peoples opinions. We have no idea what was said in those interviews, so let's see what the guy has in store for the team before we all get out our torches and pitchforks.

I hated seeing Nolan go. If McCoy is the guy maybe his ego of being older and jumped over for head coach got to him. If not maybe he knew McCoy from the Denver days as a bad hire.

I hated seeing Nolan go too, but Nolan left before he knew who we were going to hire. I think Nolan was upset with the team, didn't want to be left hanging regarding his job, and probably felt somewhat slighted that the team didn't interview him for the HC position.

I really thought Philbin would get the job. However, I am really excited at McCoy's past and most of all his potential.

The problem is "us" fans have given chances to:
Johnson, Wannstedt, Bates, Saban, Cameron, Sparano over the last 12 years.

Agreed. He is not my first choice either, but, I will stand behind him when the official communication is released that he is indeed the new HC for Miami. I am sure Ross has told both Ireland and McCoy that he wants an explosive attacking offense in an attempt to fill the stadium seats again and bring this once proud franchise back to glory again. Ireland and McCoy are on the hook to make this happen. Otherwise, the search for a new HC & GM will commence again in 2 years. Ross needs to wrap this up so the future coordinator & player acquisition via draft & free agency can start. Should be interesting to see what they finally do about the QB position.
