BREAKING NEWS: "Williams ordered to PAY BACK 8.6 Million."

The idea that Ricky could smoke dope, quit, claim bankruptcy, and then become a free agent and shop himself around to the highest bidder is a major stretch of reality. The NFL would owe us big time in compensatory draft picks if they allowed this to happen.

Technically you have every right to say whatever, that doesn't make it the right thing to say

I am sorry, if someone is a crack addict they are a bad parent. If they are a pot smoker to the point where they quit their responsibilities they are a bad parent.

Plus I also disagree with the wrong or right part.

Exactly, he quit his responsibilities to the team, not to his kids.

They are not ruling on his rights. They would be ruling on his contract.

If voided then RW would most likely fall under the barginned guidelines with the NFLPA.

They say a player with 4 or more years of service not under contract is a FA.

Since the courts voided his deal, then RW would no longer be under contract and he has been in the NFL longer than 4 years, so he mets the guidelines for FA.

Here's an interesting question (or a dumb one maybe)...

Assume the above happens. RW's contract is voided. He is a free agent in the same regard as you or I are. Couldn't the NFL take the position that in these circumstances, having had his obligations under the contract voided, he's also had his rights and priviliges voided too?

In other words, they might claim that Ricky has not in fact been in the NFL longer than four years, technically speaking. It's as if he'd be walking in off the street, with no protections of or rights to the bargaining agreement.

Just a thought.

Well if you allow yourself to file bankruptcy thus taking away your childrens financial security to smoke pot I would think that shows you're responsibility as a parent has been compromised...don't you?

Again, that is an issue for the court of laws not the Court of enraged fans at Finheaven.com.

That was his lamest excuse of all. That's usually the point where normal players holdout, not retire.

All Ricky's crap brings new meaning to his crap website. http://run-ricky-run.com/ Run from football, run from the fans and teammates who want to choke you, run from the country, run from people who you owe money to....better hope our current line is not blocking for you pothead!!
