Breaking up "The Lounge" into sub-forums?

Maybe it's just me, but the section seems too "congested", with a disorganized hodgepodge of topics, some of which could be easily grouped together, such as:

1) TV/Movie
2) Games and other time wasters
3) Videos and pictures found on the internet
4) News, both serious and humorous
5) Music
6) Maybe a few more, but then a miscellaneous forum or sub-forum for topics that didn't belong in any of the above

Like my other suggestions, it's just something I hope the admins will consider. If they decide to go with it, that would be cool; if not, FinHeaven is still the best:up:.
 
imo thats too many forums... i like the lounge the way it is...
 
also if those forums were createive some might not be active...example Videos and pictures found on the internet...
 
I think maybe it might be time for a music subforum in the lounge. That's about as far as I'd take it for now, though.

Except there seems to be an equal amount of TV/Movie threads. Maybe a better alternative would be to just create a seperate "Entertainment" subforum, like the "Gaming Forum", which would include all three (TV, movies, and music).

I think the Lounge is supposed to be an entertainment forum. Having an entertainment subforum would leave us with little for the main lounge forum if you ask me. There do seem to be more movie threads now that it's the summer, but it's just not consistent like the music stuff is.

Seriously, I think we could certainly consider the suggestion, but IMO if you fragment the traffic of a perticular forum too much, then in place of one buzzing forum with a lot of traffic you get a bunch of sub-forums with a couple active threads and a lot of tumbleweeds.

In a case like the Dolphins' forum, the separation of draft threads into its own space was mandated by the huge amount of traffic in Phins, and how many of those threads were about the draft; in that acse the choice to separate draft was the right one because the Phins forum has remained #1 in traffic (except on draft day :wink: ) and the draft forum has been a success as well.

In this case, I believe that the topics in the lounge run in streaks, and creating separate forums for subjects that are temporal in nature might not be wise for now; however, as the site grows, the traffic there might dictate breaking out some topics like music...maybe an "Entertainment" sub-forum might be in order.

Seeing that the above threads currently constitute 14 of the approximately 24 on the first page, I'd say it's more like the whatever miscellenea that doesn't fit in any other sub-forum (including entertainment) forum.
