No, then we pursue Cowher while Sparoni is still head coach, and only after Cowher declines do we come out with "The organization has full confidence in Tony" and we draft Bobby Cornfed, left guard with the 4th overall pick and Henne is still the starter.

No actually the 3rd preseason game is the dry run. Yes it's still preseason BUT it's a gameday in all other respects.

This Julio kid...SPECIAL to say the least. The way that kid exploded after catching the ball was impressive. And I think Vontae was caught off guard on that first play because Julio torched him off the line. Second play Vontae gave him a little more respect and made a nice play.

We won 7 games last year, lost some close ones and got robbed of one (Pitt). I believe we've upgraded at some positions. I think it's safe to say we haven't downgraded much atleast. Better play out of Henne, maybe some big plays here and if our DBs learn how to catch anytime soon I don't see why we can't win a few extra games. Our schedule doesn't seem all that bad..I mean..it doesn't help we play NE/NY 2x a year.

Did we all forget about the lockout already? Ok, so ATL looked better than Miami (guess what? they are). I saw some highlights of Brees looking pretty awful, guess he'll be throwing 18 INTs this year? Probably not. Not to mention teams like ATL "know" their system. We are learning a new one...again. It's pretty obvious they practiced/drew up some plays to showcase Julio. I know I'm ready to put him in the HOF. . . .

Double edged sword. If we didn't go after this guy or that guy we would just hear how our FO is incompetent and doesn't take risks, blah blah. You know it as well as I do, but since we atleast tried, people now think we screwed Tony or what have you. Obviously he wasn't that offended..he's a big boy he could of walked away with his pride.

But that is just not the right way to pursue coaches. Not WHILE you have a coach! It's a black eye for the organization and makes people not want to work with the team.
 
I get this thread. This thread was made in response to a bunch of overreators to every negative play there is but no recognition to the good we saw in vanilla style. There is nothing wrong with having a problem with henne staring down and throwing into double coverage. But what i read in posts did not jive with i what i saw in regards to first team D. First team went 3 and out and put pressure on Ryan. Alot of those guys went immediately out of the game.

And I noticed some players not playing at a high level on purpose and that is to not get injured. The overreaction was just overbearing.

That's a cop out. You either like your HC or you don't. If you don't, and he's not worthy, then you go after a new one (like chasing Harbaugh), but if you don't get that first option, it doesn't magically make they guy who wasn't worthy, all of the sudden now worthy of the job.

But I don't blame Sparoni for that, I blame Ireland - GMing has been this team's biggest problem - bad drafts, bad FA, bad coaching hires.
 
its not the fact that people have differing opinion its the fact that some are extremely pigheaded and cant just relax and see how things play out

Seen this play out before. Like watching the same movie over and over again expecting a different ending. It wont happen.
 
i think thats the problem people just automatically assume that we are going to be terrible, no one has any idea and for them to suggest otherwise is bogus

That, in turn, has triggered a response from the "blind optimists", who are just trying to shoot down what these TROLLS are saying at all times. It leaves us regular folk who don't WORRY about stupid things like this in the crossroads of something that is, frankly, quite stupid.

This is a shot at the bow of Finheaven's moderator and administrator corps. These kinds of threads belong in the Depths, if not removed from the board altogether. You guys are sitting idly by as these guys are killing the atmosphere of this board. You all know who I'm talking about.

I've been here for six years and it has NEVER, EVER been this bad. Even during the Cam Cameron year it wasn't ANYWHERE this bad.

It's absolutely disgusting. And I'm tired of seeing this stuff on here every day.

You dont worry about it huh. Youre so unconcerned about the whole thing that you make post after post about it, some quite long like this one, and practically beg the admins and mods to grant you some wish.

This folks is the very definition of BUTT HURT!
