Breer: Dolphins plan to add Manning AND Tannehill

smh @ weeden having a senior-citizen stroke from the surprise and excitement...

If Weeden won the starting job in camp he'd be the same age, maybe a few months younger than Curt Warner when he took over the Rams; ditto when Jake Delhomme got the starting job for Carolina. Both of em made it to the The Big Show in pretty quick time. :idk:

No. I think Tannehill is a guy that needs 2-3 years behind a vet. Moore would be the 2nd qb.

oh, i would agree. But I ask questions to keep an open mind. If we are confident in Manning's health, and they believe that Tannehill has the abilitiy to come in and win, then maybe they do and Breer did say T-hill to come in to replace. That statement leaves Moore out of the picture.

Ireland may be eyeing another pick for the draft.

There is zero development prospects behind Manning.

Did you see the Colts backups?

What does this have to do with anything? I did see the Colts backups. One was a 39 year old journeyman. The other some scrub from Purdue. Neither of these compare in any way to Tannehill who's much, much, much more talented than Curtis Painter... Besides, it's the coaches responsibility to develop Tannehill, not Peyton Manning.

i hear ya,but im not sold on him having the same skillset as warner.and delhomme well,we see how that story went..time will tell though.

Same could be said about Favre and Aaron.

And any backup of any team ever that was good.

I read a number of reports that Manning is a control freak that takes far more than the usual number of snaps from backups.

Now, It may or may not be true.......But, for as long as Manning has been in Indy, how many QBs have come out of there?

Even under Marino, Scott Mitchell was a pretty good QB for the Lions.

I like this scenario. You can't expect very many years from Manning. Get your developmental guy now so he is ready when Peyton hangs it up

btw, i am detecting a very friendly heavy incentive laden contract. He wants Wayne and Saturday as well. If Miami is tops, then he will have to make it friendy IMO.

Don't overlook the fact that Tannehill has pretty small hands for a QB. I have never liked QBs with small hands. They can have difficulty in colder weather or wet weather games. Say NO to Tannehill!!!

Add a player that can help NOW at 8 IF Manning is signed. Whether it is a pass rusher or a RT to protect Manning, a QB developmental guy is not smart in my opinion.
