Multiple news outlets in south Florida reported yesterday the Dolphins' decision-makers made a surprise visit to try to pre-empt the Saints. According to reports, the Dolphins were worried the Saints would make an offer too rich for Brees to refuse and he would never make his scheduled visit to Miami today.

Brees, who has been in Birmingham rehabilitating his surgically repaired right shoulder, did go with Payton and Loomis to New Orleans as planned.

And reports out of New Orleans are that the Saints plan on making sure Brees does not get on his scheduled flight this afternoon to Miami.

I am positive they mean that figuratively. Meaning offering a contract he cannot refuse.

I think they meant it as "Theyre going to make such a good offer that its going to make him not want to go to Miami." not, "They are going to physically hold him back or anything"

i heard they are locking him in a room and leaving him to fend for himself and fight off saints gm with his one good arm

This just in! Drew Brees shot by New Orleans president. "Told ya he wouldnt leave. Now no one will get him!" said the Saints president of football operations before he broke out into maniacal laughter.
