IMO, Miami HAS to be Brees' number 1 target.. Afterall, he enjoyed his best season behind a Hudson Houck line... If the money is comparable to other offers, I have got to think he would select Miami over any other suitors, if not only for the fact that he knows what its like to be protected by a Hudson Houck line..

You give Brees time, with Miami WR targets and Ronnie Brown, and I believe he will tear defenses apart. SD REALLY missed Houck this year IMO. They have already fired his replacement.

good point...i hadnt thought about that

a QB loves protection and he knows what houck does with O-lines....if we get one or two big FA's will have a top 5 O-line

AWW, MAN! Thanks for reminding me..
Brees had his probowl season with Hudson Houcke directing that O-Line..With a couple of NICE free agent Lineman out there (finheaven front page), plus Brees coming in here and joining an already good offense, and Hudson Houcke showing them boys how it's done, we could end up with Brees having another ProBowl season along with his counterpart CHAMBERS...Not to mention with RIcky gone, RONNIE exploding for maybe uh...2000 yards! (alright maybe a bit much) OF COURSE...If Brees makes it down here.

By the way...I'm sure it doesnt hurt that Miami is basically like San Diego weather-wise. Palm Trees, warm, and lots of gals

Not to mention they are an up and coming team, have a pro bowl wideout who has never played with an above average QB, an athletic and capable tight end and a running back who had size, ability to catch the ball out of the backfield and speed. Plus Miami is looking to sign free agent offensive linemen. This is an ideal situation for Brees.

:sidelol: Aw, man...Read it too quick! My bad..For some reason I pictured RAY LEwis. Dont know why..:rolleyes2

Wow, awesome point Skape. I never even thought about that angle. Brees would surely take that into consideration.

Houck will definitely be a plus but don't automatically assume that he will sign with us although I think that our chances are very healthy. :)

First, remember that teams like Dallas and Oakland may get into this and start a bidding war. Dallas in particular has a hall of fame coach and a crazy but rich owner who can throw money around. All that I am saying is that we will probably be faced with some competition...and although I think that our chances are great, I wouldn't fool myself into think that he's coming here for sure.

do any of you think the coparrisons between LT and RB would help Breese lean to our team? Could that be yet another level of possible familiararity that he could/would weigh?

I think there are several factors that would draw Brees towards Miami. Right now the so called experts are saying it would be either Miami or Detroit that have the best chance to land him. Detroit has more money to spend, but they do not have the positive atmosphere that Maiami can provide. Where would you rather go, to an organization that has been in and continues to be in total disaray or to the Dolphins who are actually moving towards the top of the NFL pack?

basically....you get Brees to come here first....and you dont let him leave town..till hes signed a contract...that way...doesnt have other offers to consider..
