He really wants to play for the Dolphins, better situation, but we are not offering the contract that New Orleans is. He's just saying all that so we give him more money. I like the fact the dolphins are hold on to their offer....we are not going to overpay for this guy...If he wants to play here give him a deadline...decide...here or the Saints. Choose. I like the fact we are moving on asking about Scaub, contacting Minnesota. Lets go... this team has alot of needs, the draft is coming soon, and I tired of checking this website every 5 freakin minutes.:tantrum:

I feel ya brother! I still want Brees, but when i woke up this morning and saw that we were interested in Schaub i felt much better. Schaub may not be the answer, but it tells me that the Front Office knows what they're doing. Have faith!!
 
Negotition tactic....its clear that Saban is not Wannstedt/Speilman when it comes to negotiating with players. Each day I love the hiring of Nick Saban a little more!

I agree 100% why overpay someone when your not even sure how productive they will be after the injury? Screw him, we'll take the next best offer and get a QB in the draft to groom.:fire:
 
Brees is waiting until Saban flinches. I don't think Brees or his agent know what they are up against. Besides, if Brees wants to go to NO for the money, and believe me that would be the only thing he would get, we know what kind of guy he is. I would just as soon have a Schaub or Culpepper (if the price is right)

Thats what was going through my mind this morning...... Let's see who's the first to blink!
 
Some of you guys need to chill. Brees is rehabilitating the hell out of his arm and has been working with Andrews since it happened. If you want a player you have to pay them. We are lowballing Brees who obviously wants to be a Dolphin or he would take the rediculous money NO offered already. Relax and don't hold it against Brees because he wants us but we are going toi have to at least come close to NO's offer. Where is all the hate for Pepper? I mean this guy has serious issues and we would have to pay him the same or more than Brees wants and we can't even work him out. Besides his price we would also lose a 2nd round pick.

I think he want to Play for us(the Dolphins). Didn't I hear that Saban actual went to watch him rehab. That is pretty gutsy. All it would take is a bad word from Saban and he could Nix his NO deal. Sound like some good hard deal making to me. :D:D
 
Im on the same page.Im sick of the hole Brees thing now.I want Schaub now.He is a up and coming star.The kid his 23.He will be much better than Brees when his 27.Go to the saints Brees please. We got no more money for you.Bring on Matt Schaub..

I doubt very seriously that we're lowballing Brees. We're not offering NO-type money, but I don't think we're lowballing. Plus, I think NO's offer is much too high, so our offer (or what has been reported as our offer) is what I think he's worth.
 
The way i see it, is we're the ones in the drivers seat. If Saban had to have him, and knew we had no more options, he woulda offered more. The fact that the Dolphins are standing strong does nothing but give me MORE confidence in whats going on. I dont think Drew is playing us, if anything, we're playing him!
 
Financially, this is the most important decision the man is going to make in his entire life........and you are mad at him for taking his time and making sure he gets the best offer he can???

how can you say that with any certainty??? The guy has 2 starts and his career comp% is below 50% in a west coast offense (avg would be about 64%). Sure he COULD be good.......but you would want to spend the 2nd round pick it would take to get him on MAYBE????
