we need to sign brees, but if we don't geta QB in the offseason, we need to draft cutler
 
Pro bowler or unproven college qb? Brees, thank you..........
 
Brees. But that's only because he's proven and he'll only be 28 by the time he celebrates his next birthday.
 
Cutler will go in the top 4 and it would cost us multiple day one picks (both this year and next) as well as players to move up that far. Sign Brees.

You need to consider your question this way - how much weaker will you make the team to draft Cutler? OR, how much stronger will your team be by signing Brees and keeping all of your picks?

Well, I won't go as far to say that Cutler will go top four. All the teams that need QB's also have pressing needs (Ex.: Detroit - Needs to invest more in defense).

If we get Brees, then forget about drafting a QB. But if we don't and Cutler falls into our laps, then get Cutler.
 
I say Cutler cause I want us to draft a qb, our successes at qb in our history have come from the draft, granted we only had 2 in Griese and marino that streched aover time, but isnt that what you want? To go 30 years with 2 qbs? Says success to me. I like Brees and hope that is teh route we go.....cause Cutler will be gone by 16 and teh cost to move up is way too high. We cant just go to 8 and feel overly comfortable, we nee to go to at least 4 to have any confidence he will be there and that would cost too much. Sign Brees and draft Croyle.

i doubt that miami would trade to 8 in order to pick cutler until the day of the draft if he is there. i like the idea of brees and using the 16th pick for the best player available, huff, greenway, j. williams, or an OL (except the hurricane lineman)
 
Brees. Look, the odds of us drafting the second coming of Dan Marino and him having the story book carrer, 10+ seasons with us before retiring at the top of his game are astronomical. Brees is a franchise quarterback, the type of guy that defenses gameplan for. He is young and he is the future of the Miami Dolphins

We can draft Jimmy Clausen later after brees is old :wink:
 
You have to look at how many QB's in the first round end up not doing anything in the nfl. Anytime you can get a proven QB that is still young you have to do it. Plus this keeps us from not having to use our 1st rounder on a QB and we can upgrade on defense.
