Now that Saint's Offensive Guru is now suspended and reports are listing Drew Brees as being livid about receiving the Franchise Tag. Brees was also reportedly not a happy with all the negative things being associated with the organization. Do we take a shot in the dark and at least see if New Orleans will bite? Or give up and go with Moore and draft a QB?
 
He has the exclusive franchise tag which means he will not be dealt.
 
He did receive the Franchise tag, i'd throw a 1st 2nd and 3rd Rd. pick at them and see if they took it. (all for next year) they dont have a coach to groom picks this year anyways.

Been trying to get in Saintsreport.com to see the reaction but that site has been down ever since they announced the punishment.

An "exclusive" franchise player must be offered a one-year contract for an amount no less than the average of the top five salaries at the player's position as of a date in April of the current year in which the tag will apply, or 120 percent of the player's previous year's salary, whichever is greater. Exclusive franchise players cannot negotiate with other teams. The player's team has all the negotiating rights to the exclusive player.

It is done mainly for one reason and that is they have no intention of trading that player and I know if I'm the Saints nothing gets me to give up Brees.

Anyone else smell Brees holding out the entire season?

If Brees really wants OUT, he could get out. But do I think we could benefit from it, that's another story...

And these sanctions certainly give him good reason to sit out the season. A reason other than getting his money that is...
