Look, if we signed him, I wouldn't complain. But if NO gets him, I wouldn't be crushed either. We have been without a QB for so long that anything looks good. Kind of like a sailor at sea who hasn't seen a woman in a while and then comes ashore. I mean, this guy is being talked about as some QB God, which he isn't.

Someone is going to overpay for a QB with an iffy arm who failed to take a talented team to the playoffs last year. I am sure that with Mularkey, who made Kordell Stewart look like an All-Pro, our QB play next year will be better regardless. O.K. hammer me.

Exactly!!!! If Brees wants to be here he will. If he doesn't want to be here tehn best of luck to him out in NO. I myself wouldn't mind seeing him here, but I'm still in this kick of wanting us to pickup a young guy in the draft for our future QB where we know he will be hear starting for us the next 10-12yrs opposed to 3-4yrs and going through this entire search again. Either way I am excited about this FA period to see what Saban does in round number 2!!!!

No hammering...good thinking. $40 million for a questionable arm is a bit much. All depends on his intentions...$$$$ or possible future SB team...

Please define talented....I mean seriously

LT, Gates and Brees

That is the chargers, im amazed they got as far as they actually did, one of the most over rated teams in football, their defense was good but nothing to write how about, jamar fletcher was their #2 corner.....their linebackers were very good, but their D-line was only decent

wheres all this talent your speaking of?

The fact that you were amazed means little, but here is the talent I speak of. Arguably the best RB in football, paired with the best blocking FB in football. Best TE in football. A defense that ranked in the upper echelon of the AFC, anchored by the defensive ROY. Not to mention that they went into Indy and gave them their first loss. The fact that you don't think the Chargers were talented explains your post.

I would be more comfortable with Ramsey because he is healthier and can contribute right away.

The defense had a great scheme, and they played well, but they dont have great playmakers on defense other than Merriman, and Jammer

Having a great TE and RB is great but you still need a reciever that can stretch the field, which they dont have by any stretch, they have some good pieces but anyone who thought they were going to win the divison wasnt looking at the big picture, even the wildcard was a stretch to me.

Even with a great blocking FB a RB can only do so much

You don't consider Edwards a playmaker? The guy had over 150 tackles. They had a Pro Bowler on the offensive line, and McCardell is no slouch, teaming with Gates to form a tandem that went for over 2,000 yards. Fine, you think they had no talent, most "experts" would disagree with you. Not that that means anything.

You are right that he didn't take the Chargers to the playoffs but have you considered that the Defense couldn't hold leads late or that "Marty Ball" resulted in losses in other games.

Mcardell was barely a #1 reciever in his prime and now you come at me when he is old and say he is very good?

Know why they went for over 2000 yards? Because he had to throw someone the ball thats why, someone was bound to have some yards, and they were the only two real targets

You cant base a team on 3 good defensive players and 3 good offensive players, its a 22 man sport and actually more , and thats only 6 guys

They have a talented CORE of players, not a talented team

What about NT Jamal Williams & LB Donnie Edwards?

Castillo (DE) who they drafted last year will be a quality player.

Only two real targets, what about LT? Three good offensive players? Let's see, in your previous posts on this topic you admitted LT and Gates were talented, and that O'Neal was a tremendous blocking back. Those must be the three you mean. You yourself have seemingly left out Brees. If we are going to argue this, at least remember your own posts.

It has been speculated the Drew is using the Saints as leverage to get a bigger paycheck from Miami.

I wonder is Nick using Daunte as leverage to let Brees know that we have other options.

If anyone knows the weakness of the Saints franchise, its Mueller.
