There are three different types of labral tears, and this article is about the type most commonly associated with shoulder dislocations (such as Drew Brees sustained at the end of last year). When surgery is performed to repair such tears, "over 90% of patients returning to their activities without any further dislocations."

To me, signing Drew Brees looks like a low-risk, high-reward scenario. I hope the Chargers are stupid enough to gift wrap him for us. :dolphins:

Agreed. I have read alot today about Labral tears and I am convinced that it wouldn't pose a problem to his throwing motion or strength.

Thanks. I think Drew will be fine. Hopefully he can come to Miami and rip apart the NFL.

I had orthoscopic surgery on my right labrum last March and I still can't throw the deep out. :boohoo: Of course, I couldn't throw it before last March either:wink: , but seriously, it takes a long time to regain strength in the area,,,,,hope it works out for Brees whoever he is with.

Thats good that 90% recover to their regular activities

But how many of those guys regular activity is professional football?

Im all for Brees and think he will recover fully, just bringing out that point
