Not sure if anyone's posted this yet...if so...my bad...

Forget the possibility of the Vikings signing free-agent quarterback Drew Brees of the Chargers. Word within NFL circles is that Brees' surgically repaired shoulder was more damaged than many people know. Quarterbacks who might intrigue the Vikings would seem to be Aaron Brooks of the Saints and Brian Griese of the Buccaneers.

I'll trust Saban and Mueller to investigate his injury, if they think it's bad than they won't sign him. if we do get him than I trust he will be okay

i wonder why the surgeon is lying, unless he has no reputation at all as a surgeon

James Andrews, the surgeon who operated on Brees in January, said he expects Brees to “participate at a high level as a quarterback†in 2006. But Brees will not begin throwing lightly until May, and there is no certainty he will be throwing routes by training camp.

If his injurie was that serious the doc would'nt have said he will be ready for TC. This is the time of year when teams start rumors about players that are FA's and available for trade so they can get teams uninterested and cautious for their own personnal reasons. Brees will have to work out and im pretty sure he will be tested.

Not a Brees fan are you? I blame your management and TE for Brees not making the playoffs. Brees led you down the feild and had no weapon in the red zone while Gates and Management was being stupid. You have what I think will be a great qb so just let Brees go. I know it's scary when you see the weapons Drew will have but thats your managements fault not Brees.

Torn labrum-which is not that serious
Partial tear in rotator cuff- This is a worrier..but a partial isn't nearly as bad as a full one.

Luckily he was operated on by andrews before his heart attack.

He has been spending a lot of time with Andrews staff in alabama, and is reportedly 5 weeks ahead of schedule, and will be able to start throwing in may.

i say take a chance with brees.

he is light years ahead of frerrote who is worse than garbage.

Sound like it came dirrectly from AJ Smith trying to keep Brees value down. The way I understand it that you would find a partial tear of almost every professional QB or Pitcher. Bree might come back throwing better. He also 4 weeks ahead of schedule so things went either very well or Drew is a beast in rehab. Maybe both. Sounds like posturing to me.

he is going to be tested by every doctor we can find before we sign him..
I will take him or Daunte just bring someone in soon!!!:dolphins:

why would anyone take the word of any media outlet when it comes to stuff like this?

Lets see exibit A.

surgically repaired shoulder was more damaged than many people know

he had a minor rotator cuff tear repaired, nothing major, typical RC wear and tear often seen in a QB or pitcher

That's a joke, right? Dr. Andrews does not need to worry about his reputation.
