This is according to Andrew Abramson's and Adam Beasley's twitter feeds, which I can't link to at work. I have not been able to find a link from any other source, but I doubt they are making it up.

Yay Grimey! Dude has been balling since Jones got back.

In the aftermath of the 37-0 victory against the San Diego Chargers, cornerback Brent Grimes has been named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week, becoming the third Miami player honored in the past two weeks.

Grimes recorded two of the Dolphins’ three interceptions Sunday and also tackled wide receiver Keenan Allen for a 1-yard loss after a completion in the third quarter. Grimes’ first interception came a few plays after he had an apparent easy pick on a badly overthrown pass by Philip Rivers tipped away by teammate Reshad Jones at the last second.

Grimes also was credited by defensive coordinator Kevin Coyle with playing a big part in the tackle for loss on San Diego’s key fourth-and-1 play on the first drive of the game.

It’s the second Player of the Week award for Grimes, who also was honored in December 2010 while he was a member of the Atlanta Falcons.

Little big man doing his thang :hi5:

Who ever green light his departure from the Falcons should be fired.

Very well deserved! Keep it up Brent...we're gonna need more of this especially the next few weeks!

I am glad they did!
He was coming off an Achilles injury. Not many guys ever get back to 100 percent after that injury, so lucky for us the Falcons didn't think he would.

back-to-back defensive players of the week, isn't it? last week Delmas, this week Grimes
If we keep this up this will potentially be the best defense in this teams history as a whole. For once there isn't a glaring weakness at any defensive position.

If you watched Monday night, all the more reason to be pissed with either Ireland, Philbin or both, as Vontae literally owned the Giants receivers. A DB with Brent and Vontae - Delmas and a resurgent Jones? Wow!!

I still contend that Vontae would not have reached that level of play had he stayed here. I don't think it was clicking that you either improve or you could be out of the league.

Also not sure he would have excelled in this defense. Vontae's a bump and run, in your face DB. Zone was not his thing and it normally caused him to get confused and we play some zone.
