Brett Tessler on Twitter: "Look at it as the Miami Dolphins trading Olivier Vernon for Mario Williams, a 3rd round pick, & an additional $4 mill in cap space. Not bad."

The third round pick will be a compensatory pick next year for losing OV after another team picks him up.

Nice moves by Tannebaum. I think Williams thrives in south beach. I'm already excited to see how teams try to deal with Williams, Suh and Wake coming at their precious QB.

Yeah this deal was fine, its the Eagles trade that stinks to high heaven.

Williams and Alonso will make our front 7 tremendously better. Great moves so far.

Also, I love that we didn't overpay for Vernon or Miller.

I like Miller more than Vernon, and I'd like to have him back for 6 mil per year or less, but if he gets more then forget it.

Vernon for top DE money is an absolute joke.

I suspect with the Ivory deal in place at 6.5m per year the market has been set for Miller. I don't see his number being too far off from Ivorys.

You're probably right and in that case I'm not interested in Miller anymore.

We're a rebuilding team and we shouldn't be in the business of giving huge contracts to runningbacks. We need to build our defense and o line.

The funny thing is what did the dolphins think miller would want coming off his rookie contract? 6M a year is NOT far fetched for what the market demand will be for a back who has a 5 ypc and can catch, behind 5 wet paper bags for an online.

I was thinking about watching some Williams highlights but I thought better of it, deciding I don't want to see a compilation of Tanne getting destroyed.
