Brian Baldinger and Daniel Thomas

Daniel has been a bright spot. I am glad he is working out. Those who wrote him off including baldy were absolutely stupid.

I honestly think it's funny people thought Miami would be good this year. Run by a bunch of wusses that are yes men and scared to step out and make a decision. Seriously our owner pretty much hired Harbaugh when he didn't have the balls to fire Sparano first. I mean come on who is going to take a job that isn't open? Would have made him look bad and probably gotten a rep he didn't deserve. When Ross got turned down he had to eat crow and slink back to Miami and offer a raise not earned to save face and pretend it didn't happen. Seriously it all starts at the top, **** rolls downhill. Doesn't appear anyone in this organization trust anyone and it really shows. Miami is the joke of the NFL. Only Miami would hire the offensive coordinator from a worse offense than their own last year and seemed shocked that it's still not putting points on the board. Henne is throwing some nice balls but we still run and play not to lose instead of being aggressive and putting games away. If it works stop and run the ball. Only when this mentality is gone will this franchise start a true rebuilding process towards being serious about winning.

I don't blame the OP for grasping on to the 1 decent thing that has happened this season. Kid's had two good games. It means nothing more...nothing less. I'm pretty happy about it. Hope it's the start of something good.

Too bad we still suck.

We're so quick to jump on these things. 2 games into his career. I'm happy he's done well in extremely limited time, but you got to wait it out a bit.

if that.....

In reality noone on this site is probably qualified since I doubt anyone on this site is a scout but thats besides the point, people have opinions based onw whatever research they have done and they could turn out to be right or wrong no biggie.

What shocks me is how quick Daniel Thomas hits the hole. He never looked that quick in college but now it looks like he has a second gear.

Just because one guy makes a thread calling him a bust, doesn't mean that half of this forum thinks he's a bust. He looks great on the grid-iron, and for now i've always wanted to see more of him every game. Yes he had mistakes, but he's shown flashes of greatness.

The reason Thomas is producing is because he's improved on precisely what a few of us who know what they're looking at said he needed to improve on coming out of college.... which is dropping his pad level.

The difference is night and day from his pad level at K-State, and even during the preseason... to the pad level and body lean he's running with now. It's not close. There's a drastic improvement.

He still has some issues in pass protection and picking up blitzers, but he's on the field totin' the rock and producing yards (after contact) due to his improved pad level... and he'll continue to get better.

Daniel Thomas is running behind his pads as well as any back in the league is right now, rather than running under his pads. Tacklers aren't hitting his mid-section. They're getting nothing but knees, thighs, elbows and shoulders. Now he's running like a 230 pound back is supposed to.

dont forget about half this forum was calling him a bust too... people are so quick to judge

I'm one of those people, but I didn't call him a bust. We reached for him in the draft! Ronnie Brown would've been a better option! He's only played in a couple of game against easy run defenses. Time will tell!?!

if u wanted to argue Ricky Williams was a better option that might have some weight but Brown has 10 carries for 23 yards behind a back that I wanted us to draft over Pat white a couple of years ago(it stings because u could see we needed a young back and we pass on this guy)

neither ricky or ronnie would be anywhere close to better options than daniel thomas...neither possess the ballerina feet this kid has...thomas has looked damn good in 2 games...thank god for him cause otherwise we'd have nothing going for us b/t the tackles at rb...nothing

feet short area burst and the ability to make a guy miss in tight spaces with solid vision all what this kid brings to the table...would like to see him get more carries in the red zone...but this kid looks like a definite keeper and future difference maker

So to ensure I get this right......

You're crowing about having the upper hand in terms of judging how
good or bad a player is because you have the context of two games to go on?

Careful.

Let me tell you a little story about a man named Troy Stratford. Troy
played for the Miami Dolphins. He was named the AFC OROY in his
rookie year. Six seasons later he was out of the NFL with 1380 yards on 356 carries
and 10 TDs.

Right now your opinion is about as valid as mine, Tony Sparano's, Brian Baldinger's or
anyone elses.

I always kinda liked Troy. He was slow, but I still remember him running backwards all over Dallas.

To be honest, I have never heard anything worth while coming from Baldinger's mouth, just like a lot of the other so called analysts on NFL network. So, what he has to say about Thomas does not even phase me. However, I will wait a bit longer before calling Thomas the saviour, although is has looked good so far.

I for one want to see him get the ball inside the 10 and lets see what he can do, instead of throwing the ball only for it to be dropped or overthrown.

YES Henne is ,and whos fault is that ? that we are still playing not to loose ? it sure as hell isnt Hennes fault . Maddog said henne would be a very good QB in this league ,and with the right coaching and a OL that isnt giving up a sack every other play , Henne would progress into a good QB
