Brian Cushing Love Him/Hate Him

I think Cushing is slipping - he will not be there for #44, but I do think he will be there @ #25. He was not a 3 down backer at USC. Do you draft a guy #25 that was not on the field all the time? Out of the 2, I would say Mathews, but it is ever so close.

I think all these Cushing haters are going to be in for a big suprise. He is the real deal athletically. IMHO, he really only has one flaw, and that's the fact that he is injury prone. No matter how good you are, if you're in the training room you're not making plays but you're still taking up cap space. I'd draft him if he's available ... and he will definitely be a 3 down LB. He'll man the strong side and provide some pass rush from there and possibly shift inside on occasion as well. He is a playmaker, and would be my top choice at #25 as long as the roid rumors are untrue.

Let's be honest, everyone loves Maualuga and Matthews, and it's easy to see why, but Cushing has always been the most productive, most dominant, and the best NFL prospect of the three. It's really only after they stopped playing games that people started hating him, because on the field he has proved his point.

if they are both there it would be a tough choise but i wouldnt mind eather it also depends on who else is there

Watching Cushing pretty much his entire career, he'd be my choice over Matthews.

My list of the SC backers go

1. Maualuga
2. Cushing
3. Matthews
4. Maiava (Will be awesome to some team)

You know, with all the talent that USC had on defense...this allowed all the LBs to stand out more than they really should have. Why? Because the ability of offenses to neutralize the primary threats is limited when there are too many threats. There is no single player or two which you can concentrate on. So, they were all allowed more freedom than many players on other teams had to deal with.

Look at someone like Curry!!! Every team that he played...marked him with a big bullseye!!! But, even so...he was a dominant player. Do any of you realistically believe that any of the USC LBs would have done as well in his place? NO ****ING WAY!!! They are a bunch of overrated prima-donas...

I frankly could care less about any of the USC linebackers.

Agreed, all three of them are grossly overrated and I hope the FO stays far away from them.

I would take Mckillop over any one of them. The Dolphins are going to need a defensive leader in the future. Someone who can wear the communications helmet and be a true leader. Maualuga is an idiot and Cushing misses tackles, helll,Cushing misses tackles like a basketball player shooting airballs. Matthews production was miniscule compared to Barwin or Mckillop.

I hate USC more now than ever before. All the hype is literally making me naucious.

Parcells said somewhere along the line he wanted smart, high character guys. I really hope they stand by their word.

That means NO to Maualuga and Nicks and Harvin and DHB and Raji and Baker.

Because it's the system not the players. When you really watch their games...you can see many times they are out of position...just watch the video of Maulaluga....looks great running like a dart...but most of the time he doesn't wrap up the players. The best Linebacker they have put out in years was Seau...and what was he...a missle....he wasn't an all around great linebacker.
