Assistant GM Brian Gaine interviewed today for the general manager position. It was his second interview.

Things are moving fast. Caserio interviewed this morning and the finalist interviews began this afternoon with Gaine. Dawson is scheduled for tomorrow and if Caserio is also a finalist, I would imagine he would also interview again tomorrow.

I wonder if a decision could actually come tomorrow or at the latest on Sunday.

Hasn't Dawson had a second interview? I thought I heard a report of Dawson to interview this weekend today but I don't remember who said it.

"Dolphins Assistant General Manager Brian Gaine became the first candidate to to have a second meeting with owner Steve Ross for the team's open general manager position. Gaine had his first interview witht he Dolphins on January 10. The search has been ongoing since Ross and Jeff Ireland mutually agreed to part ways almost three weeks ago."

I'm leaning more towards Gaine. Hopefully, some type of announcement in the next day or so.

If Caserio impressed in the course of his interview they may have rolled the key questions into one interview. Ross is now focused on filling the position and won't want to jerk each of the candidates around any longer. If there is a clear best candidate, it might be wrapped up by late tomorrow or Sunday.
I expect them to appoint a GM and an Assistant GM. My prediction is Caserio and Hickey or Gaine and Hickey.

When did Gaine return from the Senior Bowl? Is he returning to watch the game in person?

I believe Wednesday afternoon/night. Most everyone leaves the Senior Bowl after Wednesdays practice as the rest of the week is walk throughs and such. From what I've read, most high level execs/coaches don't actually attend the game. They're more concerned with the 3 days of practice.

*edit
I thought I remembered reading a tweet where someone was on a flight Wednesday and Gaine was on it. I searched through my twitter and found this, so ya it was Wed. when he went back to Miami

Things that only happen in Mobile or Indy: being on a flight with Marvin Lewis, Dick LeBeau and should-be Dolphins GM Brian Gaine

Very qualified guy. He is still the best fit as the org stands right now.

I guess people were saying this final interview (taking place on Saturday) would be Dawson's 3rd. This is a tweet from Armando clearing it up:

First time came in, interviewed over two days. Semantics whether 1 or 2 interviews. RT @dhicks00: true this is his 3rd interview?
