Brian Gaine will remain with Dolphins

did not seem like it was hard for parcells to find irleand
Difference is that Parcells wanted someone to groom to eventually take over full control. Ireland eventually did get full control after three years in Miami. Whoever Fisher hires will never have a chance to move up the power chain. There is no grooming in St. Louis for potential GM candidates.

I guess so but something's up in St. Louis with that. Seems we dodged a real bullet with Fisher because so far our coaching staff is far better on paper and front office is all intact.

Getting Dave McGinnis and Mike Waufle were nice gets for Fisher, and Williams has a nice history as DC. IMO the problem is that Fisher wants to make sure nothing similar to his last few years in Tennessee happens in St. Louis so he's only getting people he feels he can trust.

Now to say our staff is better or not I do not know. We did grab a lot of young college coaches to groom which I like, and I like our coordinators and the coaches we kept.

Im happy! He's my buddys old college roommate, and the one that got me field passes and game tix the last couple years I went down.. Didnt wanna lose that!

full control after he left whats the difference. Most people on here believe that Parcells had full control over draft picks and Irleand just got paid during the time parcells was here, whats the difference. whoever fisher hires will have the same chance he just has to wait for Fisher to retire or quit.

The difference is that the Rams are counting on Fisher being around for a long time and the fact that he was with his last team for 17 years shows he didn't take the Rams job only to leave in a few years. When Parcells joined the Dolphins no one thought he would be around real long and most didn't think he would stay his entire four year contract. He didn't.

The Rams are Fisher's team and the people hired around him will be there as long as he is. Parcells position was to build a front office and coaching staff that he felt comfortable with then turn it over to them. Obviously it did not go as smoothly as was planned but the plan was always to have Ireland take over full control of making roster decisions. Whoever the Rams hire will never be able to work their way up to that.

Still same principle have puppet in place while your here . Parcells plan was to get paid and do what he wanted none of us knew his timetable, in fact many thought he would stay here a while since he would have more leisure time on his hands. If parcells had stayed Ireland could have been a puppet up to ten years if the regime survived. We are arguing semantics both gms will be hired without any real control of team and thats my point so both basically puppets its that simple.

I got drunk last night, seen this thread title, eyes went crossed and blurry all at the same time, could've swore it said Blaine Gabbert was staying with the Dolphins.
