reported on ESPNEWS. Griese was having a nice season and you never like to see players get hurt like that. When Zach rolled into his leg, I just cringed. :shakeno:

Yep, that was pretty nasty. I felt bad for him and his dad actually.

Torn ACL? Wow, that's terrible. When it happened I thought he might have hyper extended his knee like Big Ben.

I know that not too many were high on bob greise but i really liked bob as our qb and brian is a much better qb then what many around here will admitt. when he thows the football he looks just like dan marino just maybe not as cool under pressure .

That's sad news because he was finally doing a very commendable job at QB leading a winning team after some tough years. The TV camera kept on proud dad (former Dolphin great) enjoying his son's performance. It's a shame. I hope he has a speedy recovery. However, I am concerned that Simms will take the reins of the Bucs team and won't let go even when Griese returns next year. Unfortunate situation for Brian.

I hate to say it, but Zach did a 2nd effort to lunged back to trip Brian up.

I know I know, im almost positive he didn't mean to do it.

Buccaneers | Gruden Has no Issue with Hit on Griese
Mon, 17 Oct 2005 19:16:31 -0700

Chris Harry, of the Orlando Sentinel, reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Jon Gruden was asked about the hit that blitzing Miami Dolphins LB Zach Thomas laid on Buccaneers QB Brian Griese that resulted in losing Griese to a severe knee injury during the Buccaneers' 27-13 win Sunday, Oct. 16. "No,'' Gruden said when asked if Thomas could have done something to avoid the spot of the collision. "It was a blitz and we had a man for him. He jumped over our blocker, as he always does. He's a relentless, tireless football player and he made an effort play, in my opinion. I don't believe there's anything he could have done.''

I respect Gruden for not blaming Zach and recognizing that Zach was simply in a relentless pursuit to sack the QB with no ill-intent to harm Griese.

I suppose Tampa wouldn't be interested in swapping AJ Feeley for Griese. jk.

I don't think Zach would do something like that on purpose. It's not in his character. Plus, even if Gruden decides to bank on the future with Simms, I wouldn't be averse to having Griese back. Better than Feeley of course and Gus isn't getting the job done but would make a good backup as always.

He also tore his MCL too, which means this is a severe injury.

Yup, he's most likely definitely done for the season. I released him off Fantasy Football team, earlier today.

even without the mcl tear he's out the rest of the season if his acl was torn, a rip's a diff. story though even though he probably would have gone on ir either way

I hope he heals well. I know Zach fells bad about it, I saw right after he just put his hands up. Just dumb luck.
