Brian Hartline is overrated

Hartline is more suited for a backup, or slot type of role. He is not a gamebreaker and I also agree that he has a tough time creating seperation from defenders.

brian hartline as your #2 wr would be a whole lot more tolerable if we had a seam busting te...a guy who when you single up with a lb down the field makes you pay...a guy who makes the safeties have to stay home...i don't know about you guys but i don't want to have an offense that ranks in the 20's forever...

you want mismatches on the field..guys who consistently if you man them up can make you pay...hartlines not that guy and neither is fasano...they are afterthoughts in a defensive coordinators game week preparations

anyways...this h back kid clay maybe he can be this mismatch guy down the field we need...i'm not really seeing it but we'll see
 
Some of u I just can't understand...dude is fast, he's not scared to hit, and does catch a lot of balls that many don't so I'm gonna disagree w the OP, did u watch any games from his rookie year? He definitely digressed a bit last year but I'm gonna wait and see what happens this year, 3rd year could be his year. Guarantee u put him in NE, Brady would make him a star. Booing this thread. Get us a qb!
 
Hartline has the #2 on paper is tolerable with expectations of Marshall, Bess, Bush and Fasano being better go to options. Hartline as your #2 go to go guy sucks. He isn't solid at anything but isn't really terrible at anything. He is very average . . . which isn't a bad thing but it definitely means your #2 WR can be upgraded. Personally I rather see him as a #4 guy and a special teamer, but that is me. Doesn't mean he can't breakout this year, but he definitely isn't a bonafide #2 and I don't think he starts on many teams in the league. I think a speedier option would compliment Marshall more. Look how dynamic him and Eddie Royal were in Denver . . . if you can upgrade Hartline with a guy who can take the top off of a defense . . . you do it.

Look at what he is doing in practice, yes you can say its just practice but why isnt marshall or bess doing what hes doing if its just practice it should be just as easy for them if not easier since "since Hartline is so bad"

Complete BS, Hartline is at the top of tough white boy receivers I have ever seen in my life and I am white so I can call him a white boy. Kild is solid.
 
I love hartline and that dude has them hands. I love our receivers. Idk who makes the fifth spot. It's either Wallace or pruitt. But as for starters I want gates to start over him but when we have four receivers then Marshall,hartline,gates, and bess is sick

What has gates done right for him to start over hartline, Thats Not even possible, maybe gates in 2 years not now sorry!!

Gates has game changing speed and this training camp I have only heard good things
 
I think Gates will eventually be our number 2 in a year or two, but right now Hartline is an OK number 2.

I really think he can easily eclipse 800 yards and 60 catches this year behind Marshall and with Bess in the slot.
