Brian Hartline - "That's a silly question"

Forget that quadruple cover him and he still gets open that's how good he is lol jk.

That's what he does all the time. The problem I have with it is he's not as good as he thinks he is.

You have no idea how good he thinks he is. He works hard at his craft. Something some people have no clue about.

and let us not forget. This is the guy who was injured in offseason with new offense and new QB and then came out and surprised everyone.

Most teams would die to have Hartline. In fact, I think they all would love to have him. His market shows that. He got paid because everyone on the inside knew he would be highly sought after.

People need to put in the tape of the Steelers game and rethink.

I made note of this after going to the Baltimore game. Hartline came out EARLY during warm ups. He was on the sideline working on footwork, catching from a ball machine at close range, running routes on the field and so on. Even when catching from a machine, he's running his routes in place... reinforcing his route memory. He puts a lot of time in on precision and all the nuances that separate the "greats" from the "goods". Warm ups were nearly half done before other guys start trickling out to the field.

Every time the offense was on the sideline during the game, he was right next to Tanny discussing the plays and coverage.

Hartline won my complete support on that day. His team attitude and ceaseless work ethic really make you appreciate how much this guy gives this organization. He's at the heart and soul of this team. He gets it.

see with guys like Hartline and Landry having superb work ethics it will rub off on other players. we have heard about guys like Vernon, Jordan, Miller among others putting in a ton of work to improve. this team is headed in the right direction finally

I love it how they have him as #81 at the beginning

Loved how he punked Mando, calling his BS out by name during his re-signing presser (paraphrasing: "no questions from you Armando, sitting meekly there in the corner, considering how bravely opinionated you are in your columns?) One of the all time epic moments in Fins pressers.

Actually, you are projecting. That's your opinion of Hartline. He's had back to back 1000yd seasons. He's not a star, but he's a very solid pro, and the type of player every team needs and every coach loves to have on his team.

Hartline isn't great, but he's good; consistent, great hands, smart, technical, hardworking, good teammate, everything you would want. His only knock is he doesn't have explosion and long speed.

That statement makes no sense. Especially the "everything you would want". IMO, he is a top 10 wide receiver. He has excellent hands and will do everything possible to catch the ball. This is something he needs to teach Wallace. Imagine if Mike Wallace would go up and fight for the ball ??? WOW .....

Damn...really? I missed that one haha

Don't get me wrong I like Hartline but you must not pay attention to anyone outside of the AFC East if you think that he's a top 10 receiver. just off the top of my head .......

to add onto that Brian Hartline does NOT go up and fight for balls, and it's frustrating to hear people say "if Wallace learned to go jump up for balls" that's not something you just pick up in a season or two it's a natural ability which Wallace does posses and we knew that when we got him. Don't be mad at Wallace for not being a physical receiver, he's never been be mad at the organization for paying him like one.

I didn't like us picking him up but I'm not going to complain about every time he doesn't fight for a deep ball he doesn't have the size/ hands /strength or aggressive nature to do so.

After that video, Jordie Tripp's interview came up. Can't blame Hickey at all for that one. During the draft process, fans can't see how the players interview with the GMs and scouts. It's basically a job interview for them. I think Tripp would interview well and he comes across as a high character guy (smart, passion for football, etc). Tripp is impressive.

After that was the Will Davis video. I noticed on an action clip of Davis, Jimmy Wilson came right over like a leader to Davis and congratulated him. Wilson may be coming on as a leader as he gets older now. I am very confident in Wilson at the slot.
Jimmy is a leader on the secondary. On 3rd downs Jimmy comes in and plays the slot. Last year it wasn't Brent Grimes or Dimitri Patterson or Nolan Carroll or Reshad Jones reading the Offense and moving the players into position. It's Jimmy and in terms of football IQ, he's up near the top of the class. Most Dolphin fans would be surprised to learn that he is so talented at reading the Offense, but allegedly Coyle loves him.
Less than 10% of 7th round NFL Draft picks make it past their 3rd season, so Jimmy has already beaten the odds.

Love Hartline!!! 253 yards in one game versus the Cards in 2012 and getting to the 1k Mark per year consistently, not great but works hard and gets the most out of his ability....

I think his issue is he gets questioned as if he's not as good as he really is. No matter what, he's produced a hell of a lot more than some receivers in this league, yet he gets questioned to the contrary. Every receiver that poses any kind of threat is someone the defense will attempt to take away with some sort of double coverage at some point. To say that he may possibly not receive any is a slap in the face to anyone. I'm glad he let the reporter have it, it was beyond a stupid question.

That was the best synopsis of Hartline well see. With that being said he is arguably one of the best and most reliable 2nd receivers in the league. If he scored more TD we'd be paying him much more than he's making now.

I disagree. Going up for a ball is all about wanting it. It's desire pure and simple. It's your football and no one else is getting it besides you. It's the mindset more than anything else. I never sad I was mad at Wallace, I just pointed out something he needs to work on.
