He's our #2 wide receiver that averaged a bit over 2 catches a game
with only 1 td all season...He went the last 15 games without a td
and has gone 26 game with only 1 td.

Do you feel that this position needs a major upgrade as I do
wouldn't a major upgrade help Marshall as well??

Opinions appreciated..

Yup. I'd start with drafting Joe Adams, continue to groom Clyde Gates and go from there. Hartline strikes me as an average, backup quality WR. He has some good qualities to him, but he's nothing special.

I think we are ok right now. Bess and Hartline should both do much better in a WCO type system. They both run good routes, which is huge in that system. I wouldn't be opposed to drafting another guy in rounds 4-7, or to picking up a low level free agent, but I don't think we need to invest heavily at WR.

Yes, they could use an upgrade but it's not a priority.

you're right. we cant ignore it. someone has to be a playmaker outside of marshall and bush... chain-movers are good, which is what bess, hartline, and fasano are. Great pieces for their prices. That being said, we need another playmaker, a real deep threat. Clyde Gates has shown zilch so far, but i never liked that pick...

we can say it's not priority but it really is. one more big time receiver and that unit could be revered as one of the top in the league. get a QB and patch-up the oline and thats an ELITE offense. that's what we want right?

Hartline has a hard time getting open, especially in the endzone. He gets away with jamming and push offs down the sideline. He can't do it in the endzone or he will get flagged.

Not great stats...But I would be interested to know how often he was targeted too....Henne threw him the ball alot..Matt Moore not so much..Maybe he just is not getting open. 15.7 per reception is a very good average tho.

henne threw to bess so much more too, different QB = different taste i guess?

I'd be more interested in getting a great tight end, as opposed to getting a solid #2 WR.

Give me a TE who can crack the seams. Also if Manning is coming, look for that immediate upgrade. You don't go from Dallas Clark to Anthony 'slow as **** running uphill' Fasano.
