Brian Hartline

so hes not the best but i have yet to see him drop multiple balls in a game and he always does what hes asked. just another lunch pale kinda guy

Agreed, you have to double cover him or he can go off and get 200 yards on you.

You just described maybe 3-4 WR's in the league (TOTAL). That doesn't mean Hartline is not a good WR. By your standards 90% of the WR's in the league are not any good.

Dont bring up the Luckeyes man you just ruined my day! Theres so many elite evaluators/deep insiders on this site that im thrilled to have found this mecca.

Hartline will never be embraced by the elite talent evaluators on this site. It doesn't help that he's a Buckeye, and a lot of forum members are still bitter about the '03 National Championship game.

He catches the ball when it's thrown to him. Not much more you can ask than that. Cant catch touchdowns when you dont have the ball thrown to you in the end zone. You guys say we need a QB but then blame the WRs. We need to trade for Rodgers and Calvin Johnson to make people happy. And you so called talent evaluators? 1200 yards is worthless if you drop multiple game winning catches a year. But 4 tDs against a powderpuff defense in a totally meaningless game makes you awesome!

all this talk about hartline being a #2,3 WR,just realize WE don"t have any WR..lol WOW

Hartline is a very dependable WR. He makes most catches thrown his way.

I see Hartline in 2012 making 50 catches for about 500yards and 4 TDs. Not superstar numbers but decent enough for a #3 WR.
I see Bess' role increasing in 2012 much like Welker for the Patriots. That guy in the slot who is very shifty and creates seperation and has good hands. Put him down for 70 catches 800 yards and 6TDs.

What I'm really excited to see in 2012 though is Marlon Moore, Roberto Wallace, and Clyde Gates. Let's put the youngsters on the field and see what they got.
We know Gates is a burner let him fly.

Seeing too many posters here saying that Hartline catches what's thrown his way. Sorry, but that's not true at all, and that's why more things aren't thrown his way. And please, I don't need anyone quoting me some kind of stat saying he didn't drop that many passes. Dropped passes only count as such when there is nobody near the receiver and it hits directly off his hands, while a receiver can misplay or fail to bring in numerous catches that starting receivers have to make for their QB's and it still doesn't count. Hartline would receive the ball more if he was more than the 4th or 5th most reliable receiver on the field for us at any given time. As it is, QB's throw to him so little that it almost seems a conscious effort, given the many times he fails to bring in reasonably well thrown balls.

For the record, Davone Bess has a catch rate of 59, Brandon Marshall 58 percent, Hartline caught at 53 percent, and Gates was a laughably low 17 percent.

Matt Moore to Brian Hartline  We're in the cellar next year unless something changes. I like Philibin but come on....you don't go from Green Bay's offensive playmakers to this and expect it to work do you.

Wow, seeing that in print makes me cringe.........

I think Wallace can shine if forced into a greater role....not too sure about Moore, he needs to bulk up a bit and Gates let me down last year - hope he can step up.
